    I just got mine and did the front tire of my Goldwing. I was so excited at how easy it was to remove the old tire that I didn't pay attention to how I mounted the new tire. I first mounted it with the dot completely in the wrong area. I pulled the tire back off and then remounted it. Now it was the wrong direction. I pulled it again and then got it back on correctly. I don't think it took me more than 10 minutes for all those iterations. The first removal took me a good bit, but I took my time. Once I got it, this thing is a cake walk. I'm impressed.
    To get a tire changed here is $75 and usually 3 to 4 weeks to get an appointment. Sometimes I can luck out with my Goldwing and they will slide me in between appointments, but I still have to drop the bike, get a ride home, then a ride back later or the next day to pick up the bike. With the Rabaconda I can be done with a tire change in well under an hour in my own garage.
    I've used tire irons in years gone by....this thing is way, way easier.

      A single tire at the local independent shop this last week… Because I was out of town and didn’t have time to do it myself… Tire swap is $30 balancing was $15 and one dollar per wheel weight used… Which was nine dollars. Over $50 for a single tire swap.

    I ordered this the day I received the email (probably on Rabaconda’s list because I also have the dirt bike tire changer). I’ve used it once and it seems great. Like anything, it’ll take a few tire changes to really get it down, but it worked well for me on the first try. Thanks for sharing this. The only thing left is to burn rubber and get better at tire changes!

      @@manybikes One thing that came up for me - when lining up the dot on the tire with the valve stem - the tire was somewhat rotated on the rim once I had both beads inside. I'm sure this is possible with any tire changer but I'd like to know if you have a tip on preventing the tire from rotating while it's installed?

    • @manybikes
      @manybikes  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It happens... When it does I lube it on both sides, grab the spokes and pull the wheel inside the tire until the dot lines up. With both sides lubed its pretty easy. Dry... it is TOUGH!

      @CurtisBrandt ปีที่แล้ว

      @@manybikes Thanks for taking the time to reply. That was my solution last time. I'm going to pay close attention after each bead is fitted and see if I can minimize the issue.

    I think I need to get one. Kyle, I would love to hear your comments on the Dunlop Trailmax Mission RAID tread pattern. Based on what you are seeing from photos, how do you think it is going to perform on/off-road and mileage. Loaded question, but giving your first take might be good. Maybe a video.

    • @manybikes
      @manybikes  ปีที่แล้ว

      The changer is RAD! Now... adding an I to the conversation... The RAID does look interesting. The odd part is the minimal tread depth it appears to have... The lugs look good as does the abundance of leading edges. The front looks a little like a Dunlop TrailMax Mission. It is interesting how "similar" the front and rear tread patterns are... that is abnormal these days. They look "low profile" and not very "round" when it comes to profile. They will be interesting! Can't wait to see them in person!

    🤬🤬🤬In their tutorial video he uses the bead grease. I just got the complete starter kit with their bead grease 2 days ago, 3 weeks earlier than expected👍👍👍 and tried it out this morning. The bead grease is like really bad sex lube, it goes on slick but dries up crusty in a very short time, plus the included brush leaves bristles stuck to everything. In this video he's using soapy water in a spray bottle and gets a better result! Regardless, this machine really works as advertised, could not be happier with it!

    • @manybikes
      @manybikes  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for watching! I personally use soapy water to get the bead broken. I had your exact situation when using the Bead Grease and the brush. Bristles everywhere! And it was super slippery for a few minutes and then became "sticky." Once dry, tough to get off without chemical help. The tool is awesome! Fits in a bag, is portable and very well thought out. I am very happy with it! Just did my first change this AM and it went smoothly.

  • @rugershooter5268
    @rugershooter5268 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I've got one ordered, but we need a correction.......if you take your bike and a tire in to be changed it will cost about $100, if you take the wheel off yourself, take it to have tire changed and put the wheel back on by yourself it will cost about $35
    Unfortunately for me I ordered off Amazon for $629 instead of $589 ad here....$40 , don't know if they charge shipping, Amazon doesn't
    So it's going to take 18 tire changes to pay for itself.....I can charge $35 and actually get my money back

    • @manybikes
      @manybikes  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for your feedback. NOT HERE!!! OFF THE BIKE it is $35 per wheel for the mounting and $15 per wheel for the balancing. That is $100 for both wheels OFF the bike! On the bike they charge 2 hours labor at $125 hr so its about $250 for the mount and balance.

  • @johnnyappleseedz422
    @johnnyappleseedz422 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Why is that flat tool touching the wheel at 5:10? If the tire is spinning underneath it to break the bottom bead, then there is risk of damaging your wheel!!
