Fantastic videos I know you said no one really watches the jig videos. I would appreciate seeing a video on making the neck contour jig and jigus maximus. Keep up the great videos.
i know its uncool but i really enjoy sitting down, taping the ruler to the board, getting out the fret calc app on my phone, punching the in desired scale length (however weird and wonderful it might be) and spending the next hour or so marking and cutting the slots. Its just a nice moment to disconnect the brain and do a simple easy task. Side note, its also really easy, just make a little slot jig so u can cut 90 degrees. Although one of those saws that can do it in 5 minutes looks reallllly cool.
Latin names: I have a body shape I call "Ex Mensam" which means "from the table" (literally "from out of the table") because the first one was made from a table top. Actually, the second one has been cut from the same bit of wood, and so will the third and fourth, as well as a couple of mandolins. I'm here for Latin names. My non-Latin guitars are called things like Bluey, Earl Grey and the Red Baron.
@@Milehousestudios I named them because they were only ever intended to be one-offs so I can talk about them with their owners without getting confused - basically working like an easy to remember serial number. Like "I'm taking the Earl on stage this weekend" (I think that's actually happening, by the way, in Berlin) or "the Baron is being weird." Ex Mensam started off that way but has now become the name of the shape because it's chuffing awesome and I like it too much to only make one. Thankfully I still have the template in my shop.
Short, but sweet. I was considering the Crimson fret slot mitre set up, but i think i just need to future proof my ambitions with a chop saw. Nice one mate
More cowbell! I mean, more jig videos! Show us numpties how you make your neck radius jig. Pretty sure I've watched a video from you on using it, but I would like to see it made. Please and thank you!
Loving your channel! Currently building my first Guitar, Have a similar mindset it seems to yourself and think just fuck it. I'm building a Les Paul, carved top the lot!! Actually going really well other the some tear out which I've managed to fix. Anyway keep up the great work, it's great to watch someone build a guitar and talk about things of that ilk and not have me falling asleep. Anyway I'm gunna go now as it's starting to sound like I want your sausage. I don't honest!
I was modding a body yesterday with a different trem and just checking the fret spacing to make sure the neck actually was 25.5 scale was tedious...and I only measured 3! 😂 Jigs or premade deffo.

🤣 We're all uncool Mick. My boys think I'm a relic
@@Milehousestudios i guess that depends on your thoughts about relics...
Interesting. I print them out, glue em on, scalpel and hand cut them!
More patience than me...I'm a rusher, to my detriment mostly.
@@Milehousestudios pikeyness rather than patience. The moment I feel I can justify the expense of a jig I’m in!

I like Red Baron..I don't name mine, perhaps I'll start but they'll have to be named after serial killers.

Right on!
Having been a Carpentery Contractor, I totally agree about the tools 👍
Right on
Thanks! That was very informative
Thanks for the tutorial on the “DIY” jig and overall tool explanation!
Glad it was helpful! Over all views are always rubbish for jigs but hopefully people find them useful for years to come. Slow burners.
The tic tok dig was epic 😂
Bless you for watching a jig video

That's a first 🤣 not even Mrs Richards wants that much these days!

Amen to that.
