But now it is high time we also develop our own fighter jet with stealth capabilities and with twin powerful engines and can also reach speeds upto mach 2.5 - 3.0.
We are at a good pace of developing a stealthy Aircraft (AMCA) and will order in a decent quantity, however Stealthy Fighter Aircraft is not the priority for Indian Airforce as they are good for some specific missions like, long distance penetrations in contested airspace but will posses many disadvantages like, less agile (due to geometric design), High maintenance cost, very low weapon carrying capacity in stealthy Mode and such type of mission is not in high demand by our Airforce due to our enemy country's demography.
The other types of missions like Air superiority, Ground Attack, Close Combat Air fight, air petrol and Point Defense will be carried out by LCA MK1 and 2, Rafael , SU30MKI (considering Rafael for MRFA as well).

Super Sukhoi programme is like upgrading a Sukhoi 30mki to as capable as a rafale fighter jet this programme is a must because amca is atleast a decade far
Both works need to be done because Sukhoi is a very good fighter & it's service life of rest 20 years still remains, moreover we should also concentrate on Tejas & AMCA, I believe we should keep on upgrading Sukhoi as its track record is very good till AMCA is ready, Tejas has still to prove its capability. And we should produce more super sukhoi's at HAL.
Super sukhoi upgrades will help in that too. The same electronic warfare suite, radars and weapons can be used after little modifications. Also design and delivering all the new indigenous aircraft’s will take time. It’s not so simple. You can’t make everything 100% indigenous all at once. It has to be done step by step😊
Actually we needs both Super Sukhoi as well as LCA-Tejas , because function and capabilities are quite different - Super Sukhoi will have much more offensive capabilities ,on the other hand Tejas are smaller in dimension and have very low RCA signature so it can be used in tactical attack scenerio.
Tejas is our commando air unit for quick offensive operations / Rafale & Jaguars are our land attack and nuclear deterrent jets / Sukhois are our all out War Jets with Nuclear deterrent capabilities

Neither Rafale nor Sukhoi are made for stealth porpose but for the laymen's words we can roughly say that Rafale is hard to track as compared to sukhoi (with larger air intakes and big thrust nozzles).
Airfore if in any situation behind the enemy lines can send the Rafales for presise kinda stealth missions but if they need to wreak havok in skies protecting the homeland or in surrounding neighborhoods they can send the mki 😎

Dear Amitji,i have 1 query about mig-21 jets and its engine,now we are removing theses fighters fleet from services, why we are not using these planes engine for tejas/marut, and if make of engines are different from tejas structure then why we not use same technology in kavery engine and other indigenous engines it will help to make strong to tejas fighters and ee can get orders from other developing countries please explain 🙏

Indigenous is key. Bharat should strive to be a self supporting nation with its own technology
Therefore producing advanced fighters will definitely boost it's air power. In sukhoi 30 bharat has one of the best fighter bomber and up gradation will enhance it's lethality. Bharat needs more effective strike capability. Tejas mk2 and amca are the best option.

upgradation is best idea, we need more numbers of aircrafts.

Same upgrade philosophy should be adopted for LCA MK1A & MK2 Tejas by buying SAAB Gripen E & NG, F16 (upgraded one) & F15-E/X and then integrate Tejas 2 with Saab Gripen & F16 avionics & integrate Tejas 1 with F15 E/X and F - Growler of USA, then we can even dominate China in air with air support of such LCA aircrafts which will be 100 in number due to bulk order given to HAL

Sukhoi does very well in Russian or cold climate but not that well in hot climate
Guys. Understand one thing. The Sukhoi SU 30 MKI has a service availability of between 45 % and 60% at best. That means its availability for a fight is only 6 out of every 10 aircraft we have at best and most normal times 4 or 5 aircraft. The Rafale availability is over 95 %. That means 9 or more planes out of 10 is available for a fight every time. Discussion closed. This is also why we are no longer buying any more Russian made fighter aircraft. They are cheap yes but not always operational and the spares are extremely difficult to get hold of.

However, I would request you to kindly validate the name of the Radar, I think it's not Virupaksha Radar. Virupaksha is the name of the Test Bed in which the upscaled verient of Uttam Radar is fitted and tested, this terminology was wrongly picked up by the main stream media which created this confusion. The Name is not being given to the Upscaled variant yet.
