We prepare more expecting good pace attacks of England, Australia , West Indies or New Zealand. Our Top batsmen hardly get chance/time to play in Ranji Trophy and as a result not getting enough practice against domestic good spinners. Since we have been a good spin bowler producing county and had weakness against genuine pace and swing bowling our preparation may have been affected against spin. Other possibility is that with the advent of the shorter formats of cricket , many player's focus has shifted to scoring quickly than on occupying crease when necessary. Apart from Virat Kohli most Indian Players fall to sudden rash of blood including openers. Lastly our opponents may have found and started attacking our weaknesses.
