David Marsh Literally had a SPC try to kick me out of the front seat in a TMP (I was a PFC at the time) and he tried to pull rank to get me to move to the back. Told him to fuck off and he did. Later he tried to use it against me saying “you don’t give a shit about the Army because you don’t respect rank.” As he sits there with an enormous ass gut and he struggles with tape. Cannot make this shit up. He was also National Guard who was activated and attached to my unit.

At that point, I had no fucks to give and I went straight next door to where the CSM's desk was. Yeah, I caught a lot of shit for jumping the chain of command, but it really didn't matter to me once I saw just how fast these mfs can find shit they "lost" when an E-9 is breathing down their necks.
Must be nice. In the Infantry they would’ve told us to suck it the fuck up, then skull drag our ass for jumping chain. God forbid when first sausage and commandy boi found out.
Haha yeah same thing happened to me where I was supposed to be promoted to Pfc a year before.. long story short I'm still an E-2. I've been an E-2 for 2 years straight at that point. It seemed like no one even noticed I was a private for too long or something, I bring it up here and there to S1 and my NCO and I keep getting turned around telling me it'll be getting taken care of. Eventually I give up and go up the chain of command cause nothing was happening. Finally I got what I was supposed to be getting. I got a years worth of E-3 back pay and became a specialist the following week. I literally jumped from PV2 to SPC just like that.
Moral of the story, make friends with an S1 guy. One of my closest friends was S1 and I never had a leave paperwork issue. Learned to befriend an S1 guy in every unit after that.
CoBruh Garage Half the S-1 was my best friend.... in EVERY unit I’ve been in except one... and that unit the OIC and NCOIC were WAY too professional to let stupid shit happen (like the video here)... and my 1SG was tight with them and she loved me (we had been to BNCOC together; and I had volunteered to deploy with that battalion from another unit and hot off another deployment).
That and the JAG paralegal in the unit if you wanna know some extra stuff to get away with things. They cannot give you legal advice but the can show you the book and exactly where it is

For me it's always girls, they do easy shit(6 hours of desk sitting with people treating you with respect) but they promote hella fast like at least E-4 in the first year and a half and E-5 in the first 3 years, one of them as part of S-1 in a schoolhouse rated BHA as a E-2. meanwhile I work 12 hours a day doing the most important job, both ground and air maintenance, program manager, collateral duty inspector, hard labor, we reach E-4 at an average of 4 years in. It'll make you go crazy how unfair it is.
I can’t say I’ve ever seen any PFCs pull rank on other PFCs let alone PV2s in my time in service Cuz they’re just privates. Only reason you’d really listen to them is cuz they more than likely know the unit better than you but they can’t make you do shit.

I had this happen twice 1st time: Leave was submitted 2 months ahead of time. 24 hours prior to me going on leave, it still was sitting in LT’s inbox, but my 1st class said “go ahead, go on leave. I’ll take care of it.” I went on leave, it never got approved. I was technically AWOL, but I didn’t get in trouble. 2nd time: My leave got approved lickity split and even made copies. My first day on leave, my 2nd class is blowing up my phone because Master Chief and LT think I’m AWOL. To this day, I still have no clue what the fuck happened with either of those situations.

They were jealous. I didn't care, I was paid more. When I went on leave, that BS stunt never happened to me, but I would love to apply that, but the stockade would be for me if that happened. After a year of service or more, I would look forward to some leave, and I did.

I remember I went to S1 to check my leave I put in 2 weeks in advance. They couldn't find it, so they just said: "Yeah, just leave your name, rank, and unit, go on your leave and we'll get you squared away, alright?" So I did. Took my leave, came back...checked my balance for leave AFTERWARDS and it was still the same. So I took 14 days of leave FOR FREE and no one noticed!😁😊 It was good because I took 21 days of leave(could have been 7 days) months later when I ETS'ed!🙈😸😁😄

Oh fuck me, the memories. S-1 lost my block leave paperwork, throwing an infantry rage fit I was told, "just go on leave". So I did, and was called for being AWOL since there was neither leave paperwork at S-1 nor a control number. Burned up 3-4 hours of leave time calling BN and Company leadershit getting that figured out. S-1 never liked me after that and tried charging me twice for the block leave, which was another headache. They ended up losing my terminal leave paperwork 18 months later (same lardass E7 NCOIC).
That literally happened to me last month , and it was oconus, my planes where booked , I did everything squared away and on the last day when I leave “uuugh we can’t find your leave” , my first sergeant and commander where pissed off , they got so mad they started yelling everyone at S1 it was a guilty pleasure lol
2 days before block leave, my first line informed me that my section Sgt. Had lost my leave packet, so I printed a new one on my lunch break and handed them straight to the company commander to sign. Of course he asked me why I skipped the chain, but after I told them that my chain lost them his only reply was "that's fair" and took care of them lol. Disclaimer, might not work with every company commander.

One fine Army day some friends and I decided to go out drinking. When I went to the atm I noticed I hadn't been paid in three months. Went to finance and they told me it was because I was currently listed as AWOL. True story.
I had a problem like this when I was discharged. Somebody, in disbursing, decided that he wssn't going to pay my thirty days terminal leave. This bozo said I would get it after I was discharged. I said, Screw this, and went to the XO. Ten minutes later, he had the supply officer in for a little chat. I got paid my terminal leave, real quick. It's amazing what a Lieutenant Commander can do, when some no load DK1, disbursing clerk , feels like screwing someone over. Glad I'm out, it's going thirty eight years, EOS Jne 27th, 1982.
They're full of shit. All Army forms are done electronically now. All they have to do is check their email of the last place it went or received. If it wasn't signed (which is usually about 99% of the issues) then tell the S1 NCOIC and they'll go talk to the Commander and remind them of the situation. Nine times out of Ten, the wait is cause the Commander forgets they have it.
This goes to show if you’re S1 always have a copy on digits and filed away. And if you’re the guy going on leave don’t stop bugging them about it till it’s done
I remember my second leave in the Army, the PAC NCO (who was a short-timer) said have a great time sir with a smile and make sure you keep your copy of the leave and approval for a year or so. The days never came off of my LES.

Learned alot sinced My POIC and my PCS to a marine base. Make friends with S4 and S1 and Corpman and you’ll do just fine in the military SIQ when you want supplies on the go and paperwork never struggling.
Luckily I got assigned to work in the orderly room and my main responsibility was to process all leave requests and when I took leave none of my shit ever came up missing.
I once shredded a PCS award in front of a soldier by accident. Guy hands me his PCS award for record input and I'm like 'Ok', without really thinking as I'm rushing to get stuff done, slide it into the shredder in front of him. The look on his face was priceless because as I slid it in he said 'how long will it take to update?', which I was just joking with him 'Never.' XD Got it back the same day re-signed. Good laugh to the CoC. Those S1 who lose stuff are simply not scored away and the clerks are not doing their job as they should be. If training or other responsibilities take them from getting stuff done, this on the leaders in the shop to mange covering down so that stuff continues to process. I've only been in one unit where leaders cared to do the right thing and clerks were well motivated to perform their responsibilities as they should. There is alot that goes into the process that we have to do on our end before you even see the end product. Plus the way the Army likes to handle stuff is the other reason it takes forever. Most unit leaders in the shop aren't dividing responsibilities and those clerks who stay the longest are doing the most essential of personnel actions and a shit load of other tasks. They fall behind and along the way certain stuff doesn't picked up on, hence your leave form. Then that soldier leaves or gets burnt and primarily new clerks are handed the tasks who are inexperienced and the leaders fail to train them further. Best advice is to keep on top of things you submit and ALWAYS maintain copies in the event of such case.
Oh that’s how I felt when I was attached to my last unit. Those blockheads lost my leave form and I had to get my Squad Leader to step in and tell them that I gave them the damn form 😂😂😂

Units..and I tell ya when I got recommended for medically Retirement, and I signed my 199 form along then it was official...then a few weeks later I got my orders releasing me from my duties and start clearing before my transition leave started lol...and ohhhh boy my NCOIC still wanted me to square away the leave forms for block leave😂🤣😂.. in my head I was saying the way my orders are set up I'm out!!!...lol...and had other sm's coming I. asking g and I promise, this how I was everytime....Not fuckin caring.😂🤣😂
This happened to me every time I had to take leave. I learned that in order for them not to lose it, you have to turn it in no earlier than 1 week. 5 days or they will lose it

I remember I went to S1 to check my leave I put in 2 weeks in advance.
They couldn't find it, so they just said:
"Yeah, just leave your name, rank, and unit, go on your leave and we'll get you squared away, alright?"
So I did.
Took my leave, came back...checked my balance for leave AFTERWARDS and it was still the same.
So I took 14 days of leave FOR FREE and no one noticed!😁😊
It was good because I took 21 days of leave(could have been 7 days) months later when I ETS'ed!🙈😸😁😄

Your last leave form goes through the retirement finance office and guess what....they have a totally different standard!! Trying to get a COL and a MG to RE-SIGN a retarded leave form TWICE sucks. I think that's how they "lost" my terminal papers three times when I was getting out of the Marines. They outright denied my fourth attempt and yelled at me for not showing up to work for a month
My favorite Admin EAS shenanigans was when they "misplaced" my paperwork for "taking to long" on getting some signatures from my command,even though i explained to them that my battalion was on a leave block and wasn't able to get them until they came back.Naturally the Cpl at admin thought it was my fault and stated "You took your sweet ass time getting those signatures,stand the fuck by you get to take your sweet ass time getting out".Of course i didn't help things along by asking him what the fuck did he just say so in retrospect i shouldnt have been surprised i got my paperwork a month after my eas date.

I ones had my medical papers lost three times within the same building during the same working day.
Oh fuck me, the memories. S-1 lost my block leave paperwork, throwing an infantry rage fit I was told, "just go on leave". So I did, and was called for being AWOL since there was neither leave paperwork at S-1 nor a control number. Burned up 3-4 hours of leave time calling BN and Company leadershit getting that figured out. S-1 never liked me after that and tried charging me twice for the block leave, which was another headache. They ended up losing my terminal leave paperwork 18 months later (same lardass E7 NCOIC).

That literally happened to me last month , and it was oconus, my planes where booked , I did everything squared away and on the last day when I leave “uuugh we can’t find your leave” , my first sergeant and commander where pissed off , they got so mad they started yelling everyone at S1 it was a guilty pleasure lol

2 days before block leave, my first line informed me that my section Sgt. Had lost my leave packet, so I printed a new one on my lunch break and handed them straight to the company commander to sign. Of course he asked me why I skipped the chain, but after I told them that my chain lost them his only reply was "that's fair" and took care of them lol. Disclaimer, might not work with every company commander.

That's why it's always important to have a copy.

It's amazing what a Lieutenant Commander can do, when some no load DK1, disbursing clerk , feels like screwing someone over. Glad I'm out, it's going thirty eight years, EOS Jne 27th, 1982.

They're full of shit. All Army forms are done electronically now. All they have to do is check their email of the last place it went or received. If it wasn't signed (which is usually about 99% of the issues) then tell the S1 NCOIC and they'll go talk to the Commander and remind them of the situation. Nine times out of Ten, the wait is cause the Commander forgets they have it.
that's the first thing to learn, always, ALWAYS make a copy.

Learned alot sinced My POIC and my PCS to a marine base. Make friends with S4 and S1 and Corpman and you’ll do just fine in the military SIQ when you want supplies on the go and paperwork never struggling.

I once shredded a PCS award in front of a soldier by accident.
Guy hands me his PCS award for record input and I'm like 'Ok', without really thinking as I'm rushing to get stuff done, slide it into the shredder in front of him. The look on his face was priceless because as I slid it in he said 'how long will it take to update?', which I was just joking with him 'Never.' XD Got it back the same day re-signed. Good laugh to the CoC.
Those S1 who lose stuff are simply not scored away and the clerks are not doing their job as they should be. If training or other responsibilities take them from getting stuff done, this on the leaders in the shop to mange covering down so that stuff continues to process. I've only been in one unit where leaders cared to do the right thing and clerks were well motivated to perform their responsibilities as they should. There is alot that goes into the process that we have to do on our end before you even see the end product. Plus the way the Army likes to handle stuff is the other reason it takes forever.
Most unit leaders in the shop aren't dividing responsibilities and those clerks who stay the longest are doing the most essential of personnel actions and a shit load of other tasks. They fall behind and along the way certain stuff doesn't picked up on, hence your leave form. Then that soldier leaves or gets burnt and primarily new clerks are handed the tasks who are inexperienced and the leaders fail to train them further.
Best advice is to keep on top of things you submit and ALWAYS maintain copies in the event of such case.
S1 soldier: I found you leave package, but still needs the batallion and brigade commanders signature

Units..and I tell ya when I got recommended for medically Retirement, and I signed my 199 form along then it was official...then a few weeks later I got my orders releasing me from my duties and start clearing before my transition leave started lol...and ohhhh boy my NCOIC still wanted me to square away the leave forms for block leave😂🤣😂.. in my head I was saying the way my orders are set up I'm out!!!...lol...and had other sm's coming I. asking g and I promise, this how I was everytime....Not fuckin caring.😂🤣😂
This happened to me every time I had to take leave. I learned that in order for them not to lose it, you have to turn it in no earlier than 1 week. 5 days or they will lose it
