This is a nightmare game for japan. Brazil just being a taller line up than them and having stronger offense and net defense, they also managed to be in level terms with japan in floor defense. They made sure japan will have a taste of their own medicine. Good job to both teams anyway.

Japan needs to bring Tominaga back in the line-up. Girl can block, serve, and so good in fooling the opponent blockers. If not, please let Miyashita to be the main setter again.

Gabby might be tiny but she surely is the power house. I love her style of spiking the volleyball, so unique from all other spikers, very powerful and so impressive. I remember how she was just few years back but oh boy! She is now ready to be one of the best spiker in the world.
but that full swing takes longer from start to finish.
All said and done and she is only 180m.
not to mention she's is alreay one of the best passers

Is she was just given enough sets in the opposite i think it would change the out come of the game. Because as what i observed, the sets are always given to ishii even though there are blockers waiting for her and shinnabe are always ready but rarely got a chance to spike.

You cannot deny the fact that Japan's defense is still unbelievable. No one can argue about that
It's unbelievable because it's not there. No strong defensive team can lose so badly so many times. In its second set with China, Japan scored only 10 points!
As I'd written several times, defense involves not merely receiving/retrieving, but also blocking (height comes into play as well). Japan MUST have taller players AND better defense and offense. Japan must also know how to prevent or mitigate their opponent's offense.
It's not a good defensive team even if the commentators keep on mouthing the mantra a million times (perhaps as an excuse to award Japan with some prizes?).
Half of your comment is true, but still there defence is so superb. Lack of Tall players is their weakness and Good setting.

Uma leve melhorada no quesito bloqueio. Hoje incomodou mais o adversário. Mas ainda tem que evoluir,juntamente
com o ataque,que apesar da boa defesa do Japão,falta colocar a bola no chão de primeira.Nos falta uma ponteira decisiva,com personalidade. Com todo respeito a Amanda,mas ela ainda tá muito verde pra seleção.E eu não falo com base nesse jogo,mas nos vários outros jogos... Enfim,vitória pra dar um pouco de confiança.Mas não da pra se iludir. Ainda não estamos no mesmo nível da China,EUA e da Sérvia. Agora de novo: como a Léia vem defendendo. Se na Rio 2016 a Camila Brait estava melhor e merecia a convocação,esse ano a Léia está em melhor fase e merece o seu local.

2 equipes ruim de se jogar contra são Estados Unidos, sempre a bola pegando no bloqueio e elas exímias na paciência, um jogo muito tático, e jogar contra Japão é aquilo tbm a bola não cai, rally longo que necessita muita paciência, uma evolução não só da parte física, mais tbm da garra. Parabéns Brasil agora acendeu a esperança de Tóquio 2020.
Tá cedo ainda, tem que trabalhar mais a parte técnica.
Tem jogadoras que não sabe nem explorar o bloqueio.

A defesa do Japão é a melhor do mundo , o dia que o Japão tiver um ataque à altura, esse time será invencível !
O dia que o Japão tiver jogadoras mais altas aí sim será invencível. Só acho q isso nunca vai acontecer, até porque a estatura média do Japão gira em torno de 1,60m para no máximo 1,70m. É pouco para uma seleção forte.
@@vicentecosta5942 dentre milhões de pessoas sempre tem uma parte que são bem mais altos que a média. De uns anos pra cá o Japão já subiu a média da equipe, é só uma questão de tempo que vai aparecer uma ou duas jogadoras entre 1,85 e 1,90 com potencial de ataque, aí eles vão aliar a super defesa com um ataque forte, aí meu amigo, pode esperar, essa seleção vai brigar por títulos grandes, pode crer...

Honestly, from this video, Brazil's defense was absolutely impeccable. They dug just as well, they just happened to also block and put the ball away.
I think this game shows than rather than praise Japan for its defense they should be criticized for their nonexistent offense.
