I think this is more about the Polish way of relay: keep your own steady pace rather than close the gap and then finish fast. This is how the senior team run as well. Thanks to that tactics the Polish 4x400 senior team beat USA and Jamaica in Yokohama in 2019

In 1984 Lucyna Kałek was a main favourite for the gold medal in the 100m hurdles. The f**king Soviets boycotted the Olympics in Los Angeles. Poland had to do the same due to its dependence on the Soviet Russia.

The presented race took place 2 years ago. This year Natalia Kaczmarek (born 1998) achieved 50.72 in the 400m race, I think Sydney (born 1999) will not run 400m hurdles at that time, although she is a great athlete.
Oh for sure, not trying to detract from Kaczmarek. I was just thinking it's mind blowing to imagine another age eligible athlete at those U23 games running with hurdles and winning the final. Just shows how crazy the new hurdles WR is.
I love watching beautiful women in track and field because this is really a women's competition not unlike in US, in track & field there are a lot of guys competing for me this is a sign of defeat because they do not have a women who can win a medal for them.

We had never got Olympic medal in running since 1980r Bronislaw Malinowski's gold in 3000m steeplechase. Our girls are focus on 4x400m relay.
