Divine and inspired music. Not only talented, but a true gift from God. Amazing meends and immense precision. Perfect pitch, and how to describe this outstanding use of silence! A true USTAD. Thank you for coming to this Earth. Pranam !!! _/\_
Sterling performance. Absolutely sterling. Ustadji deserves much more acclaim than he gets at present. And he is undoubtedly the 'Master of Meends' in the Sitar World. Kya baat hai... 👏👏👏
Ustad Irshad Khan is easily the best sitar player in India today-look at the raagdari, purity of his notes, step by step development of a raag. He is an unsung hero in a world of glamour, a quite unassuming humble sitar player who has devoted his entire life to serious music, someone who does not indulge in gimmicks. Like his father the legendary Ustad imrat Khan, he combines elements of both dhurupad and khayal ang that makes his music truly majestic. I wish concert organizers in India would invite him more so that we can listen to him more. I wish the government of India would recognize him and as a starter award him with a padma award.
Only falsehood needs to be publicized. Truth and true talented beings like Irshad Khan ARE their own publicity for us who can distinguish imitation from Real I ty.
I think I agree, upon reflecting, with Mona! Comparison is not good. Let me just say that I prefer U.Irshad Khans style. He reminds me of his dad's old records with beautiful alaps and slow and steady development of rag. This is a personal choice and that does not mean that others are not good.
I liked it how he expressed the emotion of the sarod, as if he himself is a sarod! I was waiting for those little finger-drums to join in. Last 10 minutes what I enjoyed most. Thanks from Great Britain (Wed 17 Feb 2021 20h51)
Small language problem that I can clarify: When you say to someone "I cannot NOT agree with you" it means that both of you are having the same feelings and opinion. I think the rest of my comment was clear enough. Blessings.
right at 2:53 a phrase I associate with Multani ..... both rags are Todi Thaat (?) Madhuvanti contains the natural 6th Dha which, to my ear disrupts the flow except in the hands of a master melodisist such as Ustadji...!! at 4:53 he is boss over that note masterfully and it bends to his will..............
@Sayan Ghosh Let us not even compare the ever-great legends like Pandit Ravi Shankar and Pandit Nikhil banerjee, whose names you uttered for comparison along with the names of present generation of sitar players. They were legends and beyond any comparison.
59 years old and I found myself Dancing to this...incredible
Did you dance with London Contemporary?
Excellent rendition of Madhuvanti. Wah Ustad! And kudos to the tabla artiste Amarjeet Singh as well. Well played! 👍👍👏👏

I never compare people and I never "rate" them, am not a businessman and music and musicians are not goods.

On reflection, I agree with what you have said.
Irshad and Nishat , summing up are the younger versions of Ustads Vilayat Khan and Imrat Khan sahabs.
Kya baat hai Ustad ji. Marvelous rendition of Madhuvanti.🙏😇
That 'Ma tivra' note right at 5:39 totally gets me. I love the nod he gives to the audience as well.
Madhivanti, from lmdad Khan gharana, is their signature . They are not playing , they are painting. I

It's sitar...not sarod
@@krishnopakhkho9703 Thank you. These magical instruments aren't common here & I thought it's a sarod.

Sir ,I also want to learn a surbahar and become a naster like you. Can you teach me sir ?
There are a very few things made by God himself... Ustad ji is that one of the few... The kohinoor...
I cannot not agree with you. Only in India can we find such pure, divine beings. Jai Mata Di

After Nikhil Banerjee died I stopped listening to Sitar. No one has touched his spirit since.

@Sayan Ghosh your guru himself will not approve this statement of yours.. please don’t disgrace god , you are not qualified to compare them
faaltu rendition......
