I didn’t realize I’ve used a product from this line before, their Defining Creme Gel which gave me amazing results. Watch here: th-cam.com/video/pXMEorBLxYU/w-d-xo.html
My FAVORITE line!!!!! My stylist actually introduced me to it. Haven't tried their shampoo or rinse out conditioners. But in love with the stylers (my current and only styler system since August). I bought hair mask on black Friday, but haven't used it yet. You're right. That custard has zero hold. It basically a nice moisturizer that defines your hair and give nice shine. If you want better results (meaning curl definition), it really needs to be applied on wet hair. Try it again, but, don't dry your hair in a towel first. If you want AMAZING results (with a little more hold, but not like a gel hold)... pair it with the mousse, that's what I do. Again...make sure the hair is wet.
HANDS DOWN my favorite line!!! A little goes a long way on my 4c hair! The revitalizing moisturizing spray paired with the curling custard gave me great curl definition & shine! I love it 💜💕
So with the honey curl forming custard you’re supposed to use the daily moisturizing lotion. It also says it on the jar because the leave in is just too light. I use it at my salon and I get better results with the moisturizing lotion and custard
I love design essentials, personally I’ve never had any problems with any of their products however the daily moisturizing lotion is hit or miss for me
Design essentials instant moisturizing condition is AMAZING for dry, dehydrated frizzy hair and for slip. I used a high protein shampoo and conditioner and it left my hair feeling rough and dry and my ends kept getting caught together. I was so af4aid to detangle or out a comb then my hair cause I felt like it would break off. I used the DE moisturizer and in that one application my hair was instantly so so soft and moisturized and I was amazed. And when I went to detangle-omg- the slip was unreal. I never had an easier time detangling my hair with that and a shower brush and my hair is that real 4C hair. I was like what kind of sorcery is this? I was so relieved I started laughing like a maniac in the shower cause b4 the product I dead ass thought I had ruined my hair. I had that product sitting in my draw and I was like why not, I’ll try anything and it worked better than any conditioner I had previously used, even aveda’s conditioner which i had but didn’t work to fix the problem. Design Essentials moisturizers are the bomb.
I've used the leave in from this line before and I didn't like it either I have dense coily hair and there was no slip and after a couple of minutes it felt like I didn't even put anything in my hair. HOWEVER the daily moisturizing lotion from this line is WAY better. I use it with a good amount of water and the slip is better and my hair feels moisturized even after drying and being in a braided style for the week. So I would give that a try instead of the leave in. But the issue with it is if you use too much it can flake.
I bought this line a couple months ago and felt the same. It was just okay even for my daughter's hair which is 3a. Mine is 4b. Usually the lighter products work great for her hair especially if it has avocado, but this one was just meh for both of us. Nevertheless, I'd rather a product be just okay than damaging.
See I’ve used tons of products so I don’t like just okay products lol. It’s gotta be great or it’s a no 🤣 but I found a video of me using the Creme gel from this line and my results were so good! These just didn’t seem to be. th-cam.com/video/pXMEorBLxYU/w-d-xo.html
Leave in conditioners in their purest form are supposed to just condition: smooth the cuticle and coat/protect the hair. This leave in conditioner in this line is just that. It has a separate moisturizer in the line for that reason. But yea, some leave ins do both, especially if they are hair milks.
The problem that I sometimes run into is that when you try a brand from a natural hair line, some of the products work while some don't which leads you to mix brands to get the results you want.
The shampoo give lots of moisture and slip! If you have the leave in lotion it's kind of the same consistency! I don't have to use much of it either! (High porosity natural here) what are your favorites from the line? I'm looking to try more (:
@@mayam5134 I will be getting the shampoo & conditioner this Friday. I love the Defining Creme Gel, The Curling Creme, & the Honey Curl Forming Custard!!!! The leave-in is kind of watery, but it works.
@@mayam5134 does their shampoo contain protein? i have protein overload and have been looking for a moisturizing protein-free shampoo for high porosity protein treated hair.
@hazelgoddesss I love your hair beautiful!! I'm currently using this line and have been using these products for 5 months and I love them. The burlington near me normally has them at a great price( Leave in, forming curl custard and edge control). I use there almond avocado line, I use their shampoo, deep conditioner, leave in , while my hair is still wet , I use the custard(so 💣) , then I top it with their curl mousse. And then a oil. The custard to me doesn't have a strong hold but when I say define, it defines the curls honey and has a great shine and the mousse gives it a great hold. Then I use their edge control. Sorry for the essay but these products work for my hair and have my curls popping!!!!! I put my hair in a pineapple and my wash n go last for about a week.
I didn't like this product line now that I stopped dying my hair. I need products with much more moisture. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciate. I have short 3c low porosity hair.
I think your hair looks great, but I see what you mean when you said the definition wasn't exactly to your liking. I've seen your hair much more defined with other products.
I need to try using my microfibre towel then doing my wash and go and twistout cause I been struggling with in shower wash and gos 😭 it just leads to water wastage !!!
I think I’ll love shower wash and go’s a bit more once my hair gets a little more length lol. But I can’t go section by section. Gotta rake it all at once: my water would get cold before I even finish 🤣
@@HazelGoddesss this makes sense cause that's what I'm experiencing 😂😂😂 that water be getting cold and I have fine hair so hmm. I need to be able to section and see what my hair is actually doing!!!
No i didn’t like the definition either, I have definitely seen other products give more definition to your hair no it made your hair look dull and not shiny
This line shampoo and mask is Wonderful. But they styling products, in my opinion, aren’t meant for African American hair… wayyyyyyy tooo light weight, the wash n go with these products had me pissed the next morning 🤣🥲. And NOTE: some of they products in this line won’t mix together well. I used the curl creme and anti frizz curl gel and it gave me plenty huge flakes , I instantly had to rewash my hair 😥
no gorgeous....i would get my money back..D.E. can do a lot better! ..but u could be bald with one barrette glued to your head and still be gorgeous! thanx for the vid🥰

the daily moisturizing lotion is my go-to styler . extremely moisturizing !!

Thanks for this review! Your hair has looked better. There is no hold in that custard. I love their curl enhancing mousse!
I love the shampoo...very moisturizing but that leave in...left my hair very dry. Thanks for the video!
Same here, I love this shampoo but that leave in left so much to be desired.
Thank you for always being so honest on your reviews! Loving the expansion of Goddess Curls 😍

I love love the shampoo and the mousse. Everything else is okay.
I only like the shampoo, conditioner and mousse from this collection. The styling products are really subpar because eod the high glycerin content 🙁
I’m inlove with the line. I have everything except the shampoo & conditioner lol. I just know the shampoo & conditioner has to be bomb as well

Can you do a tutorial on the proper way to twist out and braid out? Great 👍 review
I love that shampoo.
I just got the moose and I’m obsessed (bought and used it today then looked up reviews 😂🤣) I’ll have to try all of them!!
The curl forming mouser would’ve given a better twistout. I love this line.

is the shampoo similar to cream of nature argan oil shampoo?
Liked your routine and feedback…
I be so scared to try these products but I definitely should now

Actually wanted to get the foam. I heard it’s bomb. Try that

Oh wow. Seems everyone else liked the mousse

Is it good for silk presses
They have a silk press kit!
I hated that line! Not a single product worked for me 😢

It’s a black owned brand. It depends on your porosity not hair type…
🔥🔥🔥👍….

I agree, the best product out of this whole line is the shampoo! Everything else is questionable😬
