In terms of engine & transmission reliability, and being well-ahead of the curve in terms of safety & technological advancements, then sure. In terms of quite literally everything else... uhhh... (then again, I truly can't tell if your comment is sarcasm or not 😅)

@@4MATICbenz What is everything else in that case? Didn't you list everything before that?😂

@@imnotusingmyrealname4566 I'd say it's widely argued that build quality of a lot of interior and exterior trim materials on Benzes of this vintage were not necessarily 'bad' per se, just that they were a steep step down from 80s & early 90s models. Electronic reliability also did not measure up to the mechanical reliability of this era. Lastly, a lot of folks tend to argue that MBs from late 90s/early 2000s did not age well (both aesthically and physically). I disagree with them on the aesthically (the two model examples in this video still look great in my eyes almost 25 years later) but I have to agree on the physical side that the rust issues on so many MBs from this time period were just shameful and undefendable.

The only CL and S600 of this generation that are worth buying are the twin-turbo 2003-2006 models.

Yes and No. they both have their issues. Sure the twin t has more horsepower and can be upgraded for more. However the twin turbo charger is more expensive to keep running. While the oil cooler is the biggest issue with the naturally aspirated v12 2001-2002 gas mileage is much better and again less cost to keep on the road. Both navigation systems are antiquated from the moment they were sold. After market systems eliminate that concern.

Do you own a 2001 Cl600? I’m looking at one in a few days.

M137 😂😂😂 what a joke engine… no wonders it had a short life, how can a engine that it replaced (M120 ❤) have less power 😂 lucky the SL600 R230 never got this engine. M275 all day long. What a massive improvement. Love my SL600 bi-turbo.
