Also, these have *soot/clag* - which connects to the past, just like the “old steamy trains.” One of these latter is shown at about 4:30 or so, and it shows some *soot,* too.
Now, those are PROPER locos..... Nostalgia from the time when the growl of these at Cambridge meant I was going home! (So much better than the character-less hissing things that whistle by near the bottom of my garden now.....)
Hi JJ, Braunton was indeed in light steam that day. It was a very hot day during the peak summer temps when there was a temporary steam ban in place due to fire risk.
How is that as soon as a diesel fires up to move off we can guarantee some long-winded and repetitive announcer will sound off with completely unhelpful and irrelevant information?

Going mob-handed, in fours! Never seen that before...

Excellent compilation 👍
Hopefully the 37s will continue growling in 2023
Long live those 37’s! 🙏👍
The C-37s are easy to identity from a distance. I have never visited Britain and I only see Union Pacific here in Utah, USA 🇬🇧🇺🇸👍
Can’t beat the sound of a 37 👌👍
Mind blowing captures!!!!
Awesome images with "tractor" locomotives in action! Good work! Thumbs Up
All the best from Dublin & Merry Christmas
Andrew
Thanks Andrew - Happy Christmas also 👍🎄
The Class 37 and Class 45 are the kings of british loco's.
Can’t go wrong with those 👌👍
Heavy metal Thunder ⚡ Fab video ,Long live the Tractors ❤️
I’ll sign up for that also 👌👍
Now that's what real diesel locomotives look and sound like!
Yup. They have *Soot,* which means (to me) that they’re sho’nuff *trains.*
Superb.
I absolutely loved the video. Thanks
Glad you enjoyed it! 👍
7:10 🤪 That acceleration!
Great collection, too many for me to pick a favourite. But the WCR leaving Crewe that was impressive.
Got to be a 97 for me though . 😁👍👍😎😎
Got a good microphone. Really hear some good growls and turbo whistles.
I’ve been through 3 of them to finally find a sensible one 🤣🙈
Where is that location with all the old track semaphore signals?
0:53 looks like LSL collecting some ‘new’ 37 that they purchased from DRS.
Hi Db - That was the case - They were moved up to HNR Worksop. 👍
@@trainsplanes Thanks, indeed I had a chat with them recently about these extra 37s.
Hopefully they have something interesting lined up for them 🤞
Great video and impressive settings! What’s the castle at the end?
Thanks! That’s Shrewsbury Castle at the end of the video 👍
@@trainsplanes thanks! 😃😃😃
The growlers
Why was the Braunton getting pulled with D6187 looks like she was moving along under her own steam ?
Hi JJ, Braunton was indeed in light steam that day. It was a very hot day during the peak summer temps when there was a temporary steam ban in place due to fire risk.
@@trainsplanes oh right that makes sense now completely forgot about that during the hot spell 👍
Is that Shrewsbury at 3:14?
Yes, the viaduct at Abbey Foregate heading to Sutton Bridge Junction
0:55 Class 37 conga
Avengers! Assemble
That West Coast Railways livery is a shocker like. So dull.
Melodramatic much.
Agree it’s not the best livery also Colas isn’t great either..
The 37 4 header was fantastic sounded like the front one was only working ? Great footage 👍
I think the maroon livery suits the 37's and 47's.

Sods law - It does seem to happen regularly!
