Dodie: place out of direct sun but in good light for two to three weeks, then place in a refrigerator for three to six weeks Dodie 1 minute later: i guess im gonna put this in the fridge?

*"Don't worry, I love plants, I kill all of them, but I love plants!"* 😂 Dodie vs Plants A war between an adorable killer who realizes her mistakes, and plants who fear for their safety. ^^ I would watch it! It could be anime, called Dodie Green the unseen, or just an anime called "Potted"😂 SO INTENSE!
doddleoddle yep.they are full size normal trees naturally. you have to train them to be small. i have two growing in my kitchen. never put them in the fridge though...
Doddie, I checked your 2013 video and it absolutely is gal stones, if you haven't been diagnosed with this yet, get your doctor to scan you, everything you described in 2013 is exactly what a gal stone feels like. I had about three episodes months apart and then got my gall bladder removed. I hope this helps - Steve, please thumbs up so she sees this
Aw dodie I was straight up binging some of your other videos when this one popped up. I find myself going back to your 'my brain /tour diary' video all of the time just because I feel for you there and near the end there it just has so much feeling and it's amazing. Thank you for all that you do. Cause even lil vids like this make so many people smile. 😊
Hey dodie, make sure to put plants in pots with proper drainage at the bottom, otherwise your plants will get root rot. Which will kill them quickly. Happy planting x
I was so happy to see your reaction to the soil discs was "I guess I break them up?". I did the same thing with a basil plant gift I was given for Christmas and my friend looked at me like I was completely nuts for not knowing that you can wet them and they expand. Totally not common knowledge, although it has made me think that it'd be totally easier to bring home gardening soil in convenient little bricks opposed to large floppy bags.
The staff in the NHS are brilliant, it's the government who are trying to defund it that are shit, they are ruining the NHS for those who rely on it for their own job and those who need it, our NHS staff are definitely under appreciated and underpayed❣️
grace wilson the hospital my parents work at is going to close. everyone's being transferred to the hospital it's joined to and it's practically a wasteland and the a&e wait is at least 3 hours. fun fact right there 😂
As someone who sees 'the other side' (i.e a nurse who works in the nhs) I agree with you 100%. I see nurses who regularly work 2+ hours over their shift without claiming any wages for those extra hours and yet the govt tries to give the impression that NHS staff always have their hands out and don't care about patients. It's really nice to hear that the public doesn't see it that way (most of the time) and that you yourselves know it's actually the govt that doesn't care (stopping funding for nursing courses. Basically trying to turn the public against striking Drs who literally ONLY ever do anything to protect patients just to name a few). So thank you for your kind words, because honestly they are so appreciated!
Honestly, I think I can speak for everyone when I say thanks so much for what you are doing. We all appreciate how people like you help literally save our lives!
I'm a student nurse and currently on placement, it's so nice to hear someone praising the nhs and not bashing it, even if you have had quite a negative time. I'm so proud of it, and hope it continues for generations to come!
I got a bonsai tree from my roommate for Christmas! That was about a month(ish) ago and my tree has sprouted and grown about two inches. For the first few weeks I watered it maybe twice and kept plastic wrap over the pot to keep all the moisture in and then took the plastic wrap off when the seed sprouted. After that I put it in my windowsill and am now just watering it every few days! xox
Nicole Barajas thats why I dont understand other countries dont have free health care(NHS) like we do in the UK, shouldnt going to get medical treatment be free?!?!?
Because socialism is a dirty word here in the US. Everyone is so eager to earn their own way in the world that they neglect to care for their fellow citizen. Plus everyone wants to pay as little taxes as possible even though it's tremendously near-sighted to think that paying a little more in taxes wouldn't actually save you money on healthcare (assuming the tax dollars were allocated to a socialized health system.) Just look at how eager Trump was to remove our ACA (colloquially "Obamacare) touting it as the worst mistake Obama made. It's actually allowing people to afford insurance premiums, so they can have insurance at all. It's nuts that the poor people that helped vote him in don't realize how it's going to impact them...
dodie I remember when you made a veda a few years ago and I didn't know it stood for anything and when you starting talking about making future vedos or vedims or vedids it BLEW MY MIND
Im 20 and i had gallstones at 18! Got my gallbladder out last year, and it was the best decision of my life. I would have these attacks, that would render me in absolute agony since i was about 13! So many tests, but last year had a scan and saw lots of stones. Got it out and the scars are almost completely gone. So completely worth it, dont feel scared if it is gallstones!!! You'll feel heaps better afterwards. Im sorry you're in so much pain, i completely understand x
Everyone in the comments is saying you can't kill cacti, I beg to differ. I've killed two of mine by not leaving them beside the window. They weren't even that far away from the window, they were just on a shelf on the other side of my room which is a medium size, so idk how I managed to do it.
I found a cactus, still alive, in a tub from when we were remodelling and moving stuff around in the house. I took it out, and put it on a shelf in my room. It died. I am less hospitable than a freaking plastic tub.
dodie, i had 12 hospitalizations from august to december in 2015 and then i was in treatment till august 2016 so that i didn't get surgery because i'm scared of them so bad, so maybe you could have other options than to get surgery. i haven't had any pain since august and from 2015 to 2016 i had that same pain every two weeks, and it was horrid, so so horrid. but, i swear there are many other options than to get surgery dodie, believe me. i hope you get better, because that pain is so much more than unbearable. at least for me, i had so much pain i was delirious for nights and ugh, it's the worst.
tillandsias aka air plants are suuuper easy to take care of! you only water them 1-2 times a week, or you can soak them in water for 15-20 minutes once every two weeks, or right before you're going on a long trip or 2 weeks or more you can soak them for a day or less so that they can survive in your absence! i have mine hanging in some pretty swish himmelis (finnish geometric art thing, really neat!) and they're honestly a dream to take care of! i hang them in my window and they love it up there :) haworthias are also really nice, they're part of the succulent family as well. a "pro" tip for succulents is to make sure you don't let water sit in the heart of the plant as that can cause bacteria to grow and kill you little friend! happy plant mum-ing, dodie!
Dodie, it says to put the plant out of direct sunlight, but still exposed to a window, the outdoor air, etc. *first,* then in the fridge, lol. But yeah, the reason they say to do that is because it mirrors the plant going through "seasons" kind of, as it pertains to temperature. That way, the plant grows better. It's like you're putting it through "winter" then a subsequent "spring" so it's more likely to bloom (in the bonsai and many other plants' case(s)).
Spider plants are really sturdy and grow super quickly! They even grow baby spider plants out of the original that you can cut off and re-plant! I left mine at school for over 3 weeks when I was on break and it was still beautiful when I came back :)
I'm 21 and I had gall stones last year. I was in such intense pain that I was lying on the floor in the train station sobbing hysterically and was brougght to the hospital in an ambulance. But the operation is really not that bad, should that be what it is for you! It was pretty quick and easy and took really little time to heal
Ferns are really good to maintain! They don't need a lot of sunlight and you only have to water them every other day or so (and they don't mind the heat - so they can live in your bathroom!) Also top tip is just speaking to your plants, it may seem crazy ut it's very therapeutic and creates a bond with your plants so you always remember to water them! :)
As far as plants go, I'm no expert but if you have a balcony, spring is a good time to plant strawberries (make sure you use a large pot, as they spread quite a bit!). My sister has an olive tree sapling that's been alive for a few months, and you just need to put it by a window and water it. Poinsettias are more of a Christmas plant, but as long as you water them when the soil feels dry they're fairly easy to take care of :) Hope this helps!
Hey Dodie! Put water on the little soil tablet before you put it in the pot, and then break it up. It expands like crazy and its super fun to watch ahaha. And make sure you put the seed near the top of the soil with only a small layer of soil above it. When you water it make sure not to drown it. You only need enough water to wet the surface. Good luck 💞
I had my gallbladder out when i was 18 and i have a lot of friends who have had it out recently (i'm 21 now) so no, 21 isn't too young dodie and i definitely recommend getting it checked out because i was so miserable before and it's so much better now!! good luck!
Put water in the little hockey puck of soil first before you put the seeds in - it puffs up to fill the pot :P As someone who works in the NHS, it's really nice to hear someone who sees it for the amazing thing it truly is (especially in times as dark as these) - thank you! I just hope it's still here in 5 years...
Hi Dodie! If you are looking for a plant that is strong and easy to care for, I recommend getting a Philodendron. They can be kept in a room with no natural light at all and you only need to water them about once every 1 or 2 weeks.
Green onion is ridiculously easy to grow. Sugar peas are pretty easy, too. They were the first thing I planted and it was nice to be able to eat something you've grown yourself.
I remember having these like plant men when I was around 6 and you grew like chives or something as their hair. if anyone else remembers these and can elaborate in a way that makes sense that would be great
Hi Dodie! I'm nineteen and just experienced having gallstones just a few weeks ago, resulting in two sorts of surgery. I had terrible stomach pain as well, and I hope you are alright! Hang in there!
pitcher plants are pretty easy to raise! I own one - it lives on my windowsill and has so far survived all the (many many) times I've forgotten to water it multiple days in a row.
Hey Dodie! Try propogating celery! You just chop off the bottom of a celery plant and stick it in water until the roots grow- you can see it working in a couple days! I've had mine growing for a little less than a month and it's already 5 inches tall!
Does anyone else feel that Dodie's videos and voice in general help with feelings of anxiety? When I'm feeling anxious about something, sometimes I just listen to her old videos to calm me down
Spider plants are so easy and they are one of the best for cleaning air! They stay alive even if you water them too much or too little and they can deal with little light. After a while they even shoot off little baby spider plants which are so cute!! They live a very long time and you can also repot the babies for more plants!!
Dodie: place out of direct sun but in good light for two to three weeks, then place in a refrigerator for three to six weeks
Dodie 1 minute later: i guess im gonna put this in the fridge?

you do know bonsai takes like forever to grow, right? You're going to need this alive for several years dodie...
oh
doddleoddle yep.they are full size normal trees naturally. you have to train them to be small. i have two growing in my kitchen. never put them in the fridge though...
bonsai is like the most difficult thing to take care and takes half your life
But on the other hand, if you manage to do it I imagine it's quite rewarding.
Oh just watching the itty bitty pines grow has been satisfying for me.

I love your jumpsuit! Also bonsai trees are the best. Sad to hear your drunk botany didn't work out.
Also get a cactus! I've had one for a year, watered it maybe five times and it's actually grown!
I also had a cactus.. It died ._.
I'm not a good plant mom.
I have a cactus that gets nothing but a bit of light, and water maybe once or twice a year. It sill survived. Amazing!
It's ridiculous. Why wouldn't it work? Ever watched TomSka's Drunk Science?
Wouter Weggelaar I had a cactus and didn't water it for a month and it died
Her whole apartment is so aesthetically pleasing! I wish my bookshelf looked like that.

she usually only wears the too faced eyeshadow palette and if so it was probably Creme Brulee

Dodie, thank you so so much for vedif, seeing your videos pop up every day make me feel so much better 💛
Put water in the little hockey puck of soil first before you put the seeds in - it puffs up to fill the pot :P
As someone who works in the NHS, it's really nice to hear someone who sees it for the amazing thing it truly is (especially in times as dark as these) - thank you!

I remember having these like plant men when I was around 6 and you grew like chives or something as their hair. if anyone else remembers these and can elaborate in a way that makes sense that would be great
Ally... chia heads 😊

Hi Dodie! I'm nineteen and just experienced having gallstones just a few weeks ago, resulting in two sorts of surgery. I had terrible stomach pain as well, and I hope you are alright! Hang in there!
This video is just a big ball of cute and I hope your tum feels better soon my lovely
yoo dodie i dont think u put it in the fridge immediately
sunflowers are easy to grow
pitcher plants are pretty easy to raise!
I've had mine growing for a little less than a month and it's already 5 inches tall!
i feel so spoiled what did i do to deserve extra dodie

Does anyone else feel that Dodie's videos and voice in general help with feelings of anxiety? When I'm feeling anxious about something, sometimes I just listen to her old videos to calm me down
Spider plants are so easy and they are one of the best for cleaning air! They stay alive even if you water them too much or too little and they can deal with little light. After a while they even shoot off little baby spider plants which are so cute!! They live a very long time and you can also repot the babies for more plants!!
