I remember buying this cassette with my allowance. I was the young world and now I'm 47. This song is still relevant over 30 years later. A true masterpiece.🔥🔥🔥
This whole first album was so good. I like how old school hip hop used to have positive messages that taught the youth even when they didn't have positive role models in their lives. The music was uplifting, fun, and gave warnings to steer clear of destructive paths. It was more about community and the whole village raising the child. But I guess we can't influence the kids to live long and prosper anymore. The plan to divide, conquer, and destroy absolutely worked. People don't give up on each other. It's still people trying to impact the nations in a positive way. They just have to push through the darkness of this age.
A lot of rap had this teacher like choice and consequences message in them. In those days that's what i personally grew up listening too a lot of the time. As a young man it kind of gave me a peak into things that shaped my mindset.
I am 49 years old, my kids know this song because it send a great message. They know this song by hard because I played it a lot. My son is 20 now, he play it now. In these days they need to play this on the radio in this day and age because a lot of this children need guidance.

Rick gave game to the world, like many other hip hop artists. Way before the corporate world started using it to hurt and distract the people.
