- Sounds like… Parquet Courts?! Yeah, for years now the American post-punk band has been the ultimate reference point to describe jerky, danceable post-punk bands, especially since the release of their instant classic from 2018, Wide Awake!. Now the band has returned with a new album, Sympathy For Life, which sees the bands diving headfirst into dance music. We spoke to lead singer/frontman Andrew Savage about the new album, his hunger for new experiences and what it’s like to lift weights in the gym whilst tripping out on acid.

Really cool filming style. Interesting but not annoying. Nice work!
this is the A. Savage interview i've always wanted to see; he's always been a bit secretive. I notice a change in his expression and energy in this interview and I think it's great but he also seems like he might be a little too deep in the acid. I hope he takes it in moderation and doesnt let it throw off his grip on reality.
i hope he didn't mean an entire sheet of acid
@@shitty_beatles lol
He’s fine
Dude is good. I’ve known him since he was straightedge teen. He knows exactly what he’s doing (not a “sheet”… he either misspoke or didn’t realize a tab isn’t a sheet). But I’ll check on him (don’t take sheets, lil homie lol)

Great record, keeping things inventive. They are a great band always keeping the rock and roll style in there. Andrew Savage is a pretty smart guy, you can tell, I thought this from the beginning and the way he writes a lot of the lyrics
Intelligent frontman of a leftist post punk band, reminds me so much of Jon King from Gang of Four
I didnt care for most of the songs on sympathy for life. Though I respect them for venturing into new musical territory, I really hope they get back to thier post-punk genius.
Amazing band, very loud and fun live shows
Such an interesting band. Andrew is a fantastic lyricist.
Great interview with a great perspective. Right on
🐐
He got a haircut.
sweet
🤞🤞for a PC techno record
Plant Life is kind of MGMT esque
Max Savage from the band (andrews brother) makes electronic music under the band name Maxband.
@@simplypodly Maxband isn’t electronic at all, they’re an indie rock/post-punk band.
