Manix 2 is a pocket hog, and it’s heavy. Love the blade shape and how it cuts, the LW version is better. I have both, but I carry my mobile in front right pocket and seldom carry the manix knives. My favorite EDC Spyderco is Para3 or Paramilitary 2. Lighter and more narrow in pocket, and very slicey and I like the ergonomics better as well. The key to carrying a Spyderco is taking off the factory pocket clip and adding a Lynch deep carry clip. Game changer.
Based on recommendations and reviews, I bought one. It is everything everyone says and more-the “more” is that it’s a large, heavy lump in my pocket. For that size, I’d rather hang a fixed blade on my belt. Great knife, but it isn’t for everyone.
The manix-2 S30V/black G-10 has been my go to daily carry for over a decade now. My S110V/ blurple G-10 is in my pocket as i type. Fantastic knife! If the manix-2 wont get it my PM-2s will. Love them all.
I have about 60 spydies, including 3 Manix 2’s and a Manix Xl. Love the blade shape, but the handles just aren’t that comfortable to me. Too many sharp angles and a hotspot if you add a deep carry clip. Much prefer the PM2 and especially the Shaman. Same large leaf blade, far more comfortable handle, plus way easier to Spyderflick. But that’s what’s great about the brand, choices for everyone!
Everything you said applies to the Shaman as well. Compression lock is fantastic. Giant lead shape blade. Huge spydie hole. The Shaman is my number 1. Manix 2 and pm2 are up there as well
Those switches make me nervous. Imagine having to use it in self defense and you squeeze too hard and accidentally engage the switch, closing it on your fingers.
Now at 65th in my collection of mostly Spyderco bar non the manix2 BLK in CPM S30V is my favourite over them all. Just waiting on a new SPYDERCO UKPK with new ss scales arrived can't wait to get done . Spyderco no 1 . Best on the planet. Jim 👍🥊💯🏴👍

And this used to not be the case, maybe because I was a child, but now it seems they’re making the spring tension light enough where you can just use your thumb to actuate the bearing. I used to have to anchor the butt if the knife in my palm and use my index and thumb only and now I can use just the thumb like on a light benchmade
I'm slowly coming to the conclusion, that my Spyderco Police 4 in K390 - FULL serrated...is the best folder I've ever owned. Nothing comes close to the cutting power, edge retention, and comfort
I'd probably say that the Spydero Endura/Endela K390 models are the best Spyderco models they have ever produced. You just can't beat the bang for the buck performance of that Seki City K390. Some people just overlook them because they don't like back-locks.
You're absolutely right 👍. I also have the blue g10 version in s110v and its the best and strongest edc folder for me. Edc or bushcraft it doesn't matter it does all.

I have the Manix 2 xl I absolutely love spydercos designs I was going to get a pm2 then I seen the Manix on blade hq and i had to get it for my first spyderco
If it had a usable handle it would be good. Having to shift your grip to the ricasso to use a knife is ridiculous. Not saying I don't own spydercos with this design. But I much prefer a knife designed to use the handle to grip not the ricasso. Aka endura, endela, delica, Caribbean etc.
I have been carrying knives since I could remember. My first spyderco was a manix 2 lw it's still my favorite over the paramilitary models. I also own an ambitious looking at getting me a g10 version not sure what steel I'll go with. S110v is nice but too brittle for me.
Manix 2 is no doubt the best continually produced Spyderco. Ergos are way better than the pm2. I'll give an honorable mention to the native, lil native, and endela.
Most ergonomic are Sage 5, Manix 2, Shaman, Para 3, Native Chief and Stretch 2. That being said, my most carried are my Native 5 salt, Dragonfly and PM3 LW ......... in that order.
AF have you ever felt a sage 5 in hand? Manix 2 and Manix 2 XL were always my favorite spydies. (Still dont have a pm2... why play with Toys when i have the "Real McCoys" ) I bought a sage 5 and i still love the manix but the sage is a nice one for my rotation.
Can't disagree, would just like to add the Amalgam to the list, yes the flipper tab can get in the way of closing " for like the first ten tries" other than that its a fantastic dream knife of mine, I have never had a handle that fits like a glove, like this one does! It is sooo underrated!
The G10 Manix is the knife I want. I have the poor-man’s version (Tenacious) and that blade geometry just never gets that dull. Ideal for a dependable working-knife. Camp/work/survival.. this 👆 is a great folder to have.

K390 is my favorite steel... edge retention and stability is off the charts.. my stretch 2 is always in my pocket

I have the Xl Manix in S30V and the S110V lightweight, the Manix is just about a perfect EDC knife
It would be better if it had the sabre grind like mine.. (Only the original run of manix2 had this grind)

The Manix 2 is definitely great, but I still think I’d rate the Chef as the most-perfected Spyderco.

I own both the manix 2 and sage 5. Hands down the sage 5 is the best for me. Especially if you get aftermarket, carbon fiber scales.

Not really. I think they fit each finger very well. The XL is even better just wish there was more than s30v out there that was easy to grab.
