He's aligning the centreline of the arch he just created with the centre of the base previously created. An alternative would be to draw the arch in the correct place first time, he just made it quicker by drawing it close to the final position and then moved it - this also has the advantage of locking the centres together so when he changes the arch size, it still stays aligned.
i am so confused why such an awesome program is surrounded by a bad online experience. I have been trying to figure out how to update my payment method to a longer term commitment, but i just cant figure it out.
Cool app, very much like Integraphics that I took back in 1985. Would you happen to know if it will work with a SmartMouse? I see a lot of Fusion 360. Is there a way to integrate automation, such as redimensioning, that would have constraints on other parts? The template would have those constraints. Looks to be a lot faster than Fusion 360, with a lot more features assigned to the mouse. My SmartMouse has an imported button package that allows me to rotate the sketch in three spaces and manipulate it without needing to reference the keyboard. Nice.
@NoMoreBsPlease I was following along in the app, that's why I was confused because he wasn't doing anything in the app. I found a longer, much more in depth tutorial series where the instructor is creating projects in the app. He's got a thick accent, but does a better job of demonstrating the tools in the app.

Check them out here: my.solidworks.com/mylearning Our TH-cam channel also has a lot of great learning content: th-cam.com/users/SOLIDWORKS There are many tutorials in the software itself, from basic to advanced: www.solidworks.com/sw/resources/solidworks-tutorials.htm Our Tech blog is a great resource as well: blogs.solidworks.com/tech/
This video is crap not explaining how to do things assuming we already know how to use all the control features. Pacing so fast you can't see what's being done. I've honestly never seen a worse instructional video.
i like how this isnt the cloud version even tho its under the same playlist as the cloud version. if you guys cant do this, im guessing your software is just as bad. and judging from the comments, thats true.
does anyone know how does the hole wizard fuction work on the cloud? i only have cloud SolidWorks and i cant find a way for it to work
I cannot get the mirror entities function to work

What do you mean by hover over origin to snap to it? Your mouse is doing nothing that indicates what you mean.
It's hard to explain if you're not actually using the app. I wish you would have used a timestamp.

Pacing is WAY too quick. I'm hardly able to follow along or understand what he's selecting, why he's using it or what it influences.

with me also, New to this software and doing 3D drawings
I have to stop ten times for every step. Slow down!!!
Agreed - way too fast for a newbie.
I use the 0.75 playback speed and pause.
I agree that the pace of the video is way too fast. I can't follow where you are going even if I watch a few times.
I simply hit PAUSE until I'm ready to proceed.
Can you import .DWG file

As far as tutorials go, this is not very good at all

Pace is WAY to fst, and my version is dufferent to your, so totally confusing. Not at all happy.

The only thing I learned from this video is that the guy is an expert in Solidworks. And the music is very annoying.
I also dislike music in videos.

The online version is crap. i'm not able to do much with assembly's to justify buying the software even as a hobbiest with low requirements
