So in today's video I went out to the streets of Yangon and did a interview.
I asked Burmese girls if they feel okay to marry a foreigner or not.
The result, see it for your self!
The interview was done in front of Hledan Centre in Yangon, where all the university students hang out.

In Myanmar, some people okay with marrying foreigners. However, same religions will be preferable.
I watching this not because of the content but I wonder how is like in Myanmar country and the moment the girls answering the questions on the street. I feel like I already in Myanmar since I can fully understand the language and I have never been there.

I’ve discovered women are very conservative (shy?) when it comes to talking to members of the opposite sex in public. They are also chided and gossiped about when seen with a foreigner. In Yangon, and even Mandalay, I have had success. But here in Monywa, it’s been very frustrating.
After 25 years in Japan, this was quite the culture shock.

You could go to any country and get the same results.....even in america where there is all the cultures people would still prefer someone who grew up and was raised in the US half of the time.
and looks like them and their family/ancestors. I often am tempted to be with others of different races, considering marriage and children. but when I think of what my family/ancesotrs all look like, and the comfort I have taken in them, anything else, just doesn't feel as cozy.

@traveltheworldnow89if his avatar photo is him, then he's likely from north east India Nagaland mostly buddhist related to Burmese. North east India was supposed to be Myanmar's territory but British gave it to India instead of returning to Myanmar.

You really need to go out of Yangoon man. True pure Burmese dont live in Yangoon. They live mostly in other regions. Yangoon is the most modernized and diverse city in Myanmar, but go to other ethnic states such as (Shan, Kachin, and Karen regions). They are extremely conservative and wont even allowed to marry other ethnic groups especially Indian, Muslim, chinese. They even tried to pass a law in Myanmar that A buddhist Bamar girls are not allowed to married outside of their religion and race. I would say ethnic people that live in outside of Myanmar are the most conservative and racist people I ever met.
They did not try to pass that law, they did pass that law.
I am not buddhist but I has to bring photographic evidence that I am to the court for them to sign my wife's and my wedding certificate. Crazy haha but happy we got it done.

My grandmother is from Myanmar and my grandfather is from south part of India. Now my parents tell me to marry a girl from Myanmar. I don't know how i'm going to find a girl from Myanmar and tell her to marry me 😅
In 1930s Japan, half the government ministers were married with white women. My grandfather (also white) dated a girl from Osaka around 1950 - perhaps they were more open to marrying foreigners than you imagine 😜
