      I personally think that if RB knew it was me they'd block me, as I have spoken out against them many times LOL
      I don't think that social presence helped much, as the IG link I placed there was to an account that is private- so they can't even see it...
      Honestly? I think they placed me at a higher tier since I am not making any money- no money to take from a new seller, or maybe- they are trying to fight off all the bad rep they have gotten, so they make new accounts premium - to not demotivate them LOL

    I'm not going to delete my account because I am in a bad place financially and any money helps but I am disappointed in how Redbubble handled this change and has not given us information about what makes you reach each tier. I have done everything the same as you have except I opened my store in 2019 but they've put me in standard tier instead of premium, It is very confusing.

    Hey, I think I figured out the whole best seller badge thing. I started randomly clicking on different products in my shop until I found one with the best seller badge. Like you, it was a design that I'd never sold before. The particular product was a poster, but other products with the same design didn't say best seller. I looked at several other posters on my account and all of them had the best seller badge. Then I did a general search for posters and clicked on the first 12 designs that came up in the search. All of them had the best seller badge. Also every sticker I've clicked on has a top rated badge.
    From this I think I can conclude that these badges are about the type of product and not about our specific designs. So posters specifically are best sellers and stickers specifically are top rated. I think the way they did these badges is really misleading though because it really does come across as a rating about the particular design rather than the type of product.

    At first I thought this was just a normal update to optimize their system. But then I realized that my account with 700 sales and 5k likes is classified as standard.
    I contacted to many Redbubble artists. And the truth is that all high-selling successful artists are classified as standard. Even accounts with 2 designs are premium.
    You did not hear wrong. Redbubble steals money by making standard accounts of all its high-paying artists.
    They are stupid enough to think that this disgrace goes unnoticed.
    Today is the day that Redbubble was declared a fraudulent company.
    I invite everyone to announce this on all their social media accounts. They must pay for this disgrace.

    People totally need to look at what “White Trash” really is. I’m sorry that there are trolls out there. I’m definitely more “white trash” than anybody, being from the Us, and having grown up living in a mobile home, on welfare! 😂
    Anyway, this is the first time I’ve commented, as I’m usually driving while listening to your videos. It’s so refreshing to have found someone so blunt and forward about the POD business, and what to expect. I’ve wanted to do something with my art for a long time, and have only had access to a drawing tablet for the last 5 years, and still building up my skills. I just recently learned about Print on demand in the last few months after just considering making stickers. I knew about KDP from working at an Amazon facility in Denver, Colorado, US, but hadn’t seen all of what was available with print on demand, until recently. So, now I’m just trying to decide what to sell on which platforms, and learn marketing. As always, Mey, you are amazing and much appreciated. Thank you for being such an authentic person.

    Also, side note for shipping I can tell you as someone that works in logistics for shipping for a Fortune 500 transportation company, the cost of shipping is crazy atm, a mix of not enough drivers wanting to drive due to much lower pay for that transportation due to the much higher cost in diesel. So alot of it is the fact alot of drivers are turning dow the lower jobs and sitting out for the ones they deem worth it also, we have an amazing amount of loads we struggle to get drives to accept due to the "low cost" and with gas honestly still being above 3$ and some ever over 4$ the drivers are just doing what they got to do. so remember shipping generally is essentially has fees on it 5 times and trading hands at least 3 times, (The maker of the goods, The Company accepting the product for the initial shipment, (depending on the distance may move between 2-5 forms of transportation, not each transportation is getting paid too) and the vendor, and if no vender generally shipped directly to the buyer) So assuming the lowest generally 3-4 people get a payment of some kind to get from point a to be, high end i have seen up to 10 changes of hands, again each getting a payment

    They are outraged because they are emotional and some content creators are just adding to it. People mass deleting their accounts, driving up their cost thinking it will hurt Redbubble, raging for no reason. All of this is child-like behavior. I don't care at all about the randomness or anything. This doesn't stop anyone from being successful on RB at all. The max fee is $92 if you make less than $500 on a standard account. If you make a little on RB, you're still going to make a little because if you make $20, they take $10 which is 50% but at $500 they take $92 FROM YOUR PROFIT not your pocket.
    The Tier new system is just an outlet to RB Rage at the fact people are not good already on RB and give up RB. Someone in this comment section said they had 3 shops and deleted everything because they feel RB is trying to rip us off. There is no way someone would delete a fully successful business because of this tiny thing. You mean to tell me if you're making $2000 a month on RB, you'd close your shop for this small additional fee? Get real. As they say I was born at night but not last night.
    No mature person would throw finances like that away. It's equivalent to quitting your job because they decided to up your health insurance by $92 but yet you can afford it or change coverage or such. Nobody would throw out annual income like that. If you have 3 shops and each make $1000, you're not going to toss out $36,000 a year. The reason people are closing their shops is because the income was insignificant to them in the first place due to their own lack of effort and knowledge to get to those higher income levels on RB combined with just being emotional about this all. That's the truth they will never admit. And if everyone looks at their RB income, they'll see why they feel it's so easy to close shop. You're already not successful on the platform that was 100% free so now you're mad at a new potential fee that's taking some crumbs from your small stack of crumbs. This new structure made me want to make MORE RB stuff because people quitting leaves open spaces for others.

    As a buyer first it makes total sense. It proves you're a more valuable user and not just one who will spam uploads. I feel these marketplaces like to see us as buyers as well as sellers. I have a STANDARD RB store, my shop is over a year old, I am from the US, entered in all info, have the banner, and also create unique images , I also upload images specific for Cards and stickers where necessary or turning off ones that suck, so not just spam uploads of CF stuff. This was a pretty interesting experiment you did. I was put in premium even though I haven't sold much, but I think I went about setting things up in a fairly similar way to how you did it. The main difference is that I used the maximum number of tags because that was the advice that I received at the time I created the shop, but I tried to make sure they were all relevant tags as much as possible. Ironically I had issues with trying to set up an account on Fine Art American where they deactivated my account because I put links in my bio before I uploaded any designs and they thought that was a sign of a spammy bot.
    I will admit to being curious about your accent as it seems to change around at times so it was very interesting to hear a bit more about your background. I'm not sure why you try to make your accent neutral, but I'm sure your natural speaking voice is lovely and it would be nice to hear it in some of your future videos.

    • @MeyTribe
      @MeyTribe  ปีที่แล้ว

      I have to say- this is the first time I am hearing someone being banned or deactivated from FAA...
      Maybe their algorithm is somehow backwards?
      My accent- originally very south african... But I modified it as a child cause I was bullied because of it.
      I have lived in so many countries, and I "catch" accents from people. I try to neutralize my accent on TH-cam, but on my earlier videos, when I was filming myself I was using a neutral accent, but when filming the screen my natural one came out.
      Sometimes I even start speaking with an Eastern European accent if i spoke Bulgarian that day LOL

    • @Kythe42
      @Kythe42 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MeyTribe Yeah, I don't know. They did reactivate my account after contacting them but told me it would be deactivated again if I didn't upload any designs in two days because it was an automated thing. I wasn't pleased as that's not a lot of time if you're busy and trying to learn how a new product creator works. I managed to get it done, but didn't do too much with the site after that as I've been debating whether I want to pay the subscription fee for unlimited designs, and it doesn't help that the only payment methods they offer aren't convenient for me.
      Sorry to hear about the childhood bullies. I've had to deal with that myself for other reasons and children can be so cruel sometimes. I think I know what you meant about the catching accents thing. I've experienced that on occasion myself just from watching television! LOL

    Here’s what’s up with the tier system: RB makes almost no money from low selling accounts (i.e. mine) and they put those in Premium. The good sellers make lots of money for RB and now they are put into Standard so that RB gets to gouge those sellers for a bigger cut of those profits. Simple as that. I’d be willing to bet that many of the accounts that use bots are also in Standard. The vast majority of sellers on RB make next to no money. If they told those artists that they were going to penalize them more with higher fees then said artists would be jumping ship even more than they are now. I know for sure I would have done. The fact that they put me in Premium means I’ll stick around for a bit longer and see what plays put.

      Nope. I had multiple RB accounts. The ones with hardly no sales got Standard, the higher selling account with daily sales got Premium. I draw a lot of my own traffic and have a branded store. A guy I know that makes $2000/mo got Pro.

    I got standard, despite doing a lot of the right things, as far as we know what "right" means. The lack of transparency on tier attribution and on what to do to change tiers is upsetting. I have about 350 sales, making 20-50$ per month in the last 12 months. I have 124 designs, mostly text-based, and upload new one(s) every other month. My storefront and collections are properly set. I use high resolution, costumise for certain products and only activate products in which the designs look good. I sell to an underrepresented niche and a few of my designs are high up on the keyword search. I have over 2k favorited on RB and new likes everyday. • @MeyTribe
      @MeyTribe  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It is starting to look like their system is either RANDOM or just against people with sales...
      as for removing your designs... Only you can decide if it's worth it for you or not.
      If you have already so many pins and posts referring to your shop- maybe removing the designs will hurt potential earnings in the future?
      Also- removing the designs is "work", you can just stop uploading if you don't like to try in with the new system... But if you wanna remove your account cause you dislike the company's behaviour- no one will blame you.
      I have closed my shop over a year ago, for my own moral reasons, and only opened this shop as viewers wanted to see what happens with a new shop opened from a None-native English speaking country, as many were thinking this tier system is a geo-location thing.
      I made an order from Liesl's shop for that anti-RB merch, and as soon as I get it- I am closing my shop as well...
      If your goals is to close the shop and open a new one, I am not sure how their algorithm will fee about that... mind you- my shop was closed for over a year...
      And regardless of what you do... Never put all your eggs in one basket!

    Nothing strange with RB’s strategy. It’s messed up, but there’s a method.
    RB artist that sells get standard so RB can get more money.
    RB artist who just created their account gets Premium so newcomers will feel special and will stay on the platform.
    Remember that even being Premium RB gets a good amount of profit.
    It looks like less money then Standard, but new accounts don’t sell anyway.
    Why this strategy is going to fail? Because there are so many other platforms out there, because people who sell a lot are already leaving RB.
    New accounts will stay for a while until they see that they don’t sell anything, and even they are going to either abandon their stores or delete everything and go away.

    • @MeyTribe

    • @MeyTribe
      @MeyTribe  ปีที่แล้ว

      When I opened my first ever account I was from Israel, a non-native-English speaking country, and they didn't know I was a good designer- as I had no public info on myself. That account was used when i was uploading art to RB from Romania, Thailand , Laos & Bulgaria.
      This current account was opened from Bulgaria.
      I don't know how redbubble would know someone is a good designer from them uploading 2-3 designs. (they didn't know my name on the first time FOR SURE as I didn't have a TH-cam channel back in 2017).
      I think any experiment is valid, but it does show they are not banning or demoting people just from having accounts that are not in native English speaking countries- as a lot of people said is the case.
      As for anything else? it's speculation. it's also an option that maybe RB just started giving people a premium account when opening the shop just to get off the bad reputation they got from the tier system.
      Also, I don't think that i am getting any special treatment from them... even when I contacted them with certain questions from my personal IG or FB accounts- where you can clearly see I'm a POD youtuber, the answers were vague, weird, and telling me to contact support.
      When I did contact support I also got vague answers after waiting a good 4-5 days for a reply. I do not think I get any special treatment with them.
      In fact- my only concern was to be placed in a lower tier, or be automatically suspended- as I have spoken out against them in many occasions, and the fist thing I did with my new account is to buy anti-redbubble merch LOL

    • @albert0F
      @albert0F ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MeyTribe Thanks for the long reply. I think RB surely has an algorithm to do this. I made an account in 2017, from Mexico, with less than 20 designs and sold $20 worth of commissions in all that time, which only recently discovered because I logged back in by chance. I am tiered as Premium, because I guess the bar is not very high. I decided to open another store for a different niche and it also got tiered Premium, because they already know who I am, which is my point, they already know who you are today from all your history with them, it doesn't matter if its in a different country unless you change the name, email, paypal, maybe even erase the computer cookies, etc. Your history is part of the algorithm, it couldnt ever be simply the country you are located. Israel with so many english speakers is also part of the algorithm, just like it would be the case with european countries. Premium is just a small jump ahead, a way to delete accounts or make people lose them, because they probably waste a lot of system resources to have dormant accounts with thousands of bad designs eating resources, and that way they can keep the money from that. I bet they have millions in uncollected commissions.

It's not difficult at all for them to do that so ALL of the blame is on them. They certainly shouldn't punish people for not doing these things because they are not required. This sounds super shady - 'Look! We have 10,000,000 sellers', when a lot of them are unverified and aren't allowed to sell anything. Let's also not forget their new pricing fees that leaves a lot of sellers with 10% or LESS of the profit.

    The Skillshare class you mentioned was teacher by Brenda Bakker, right?

      I am not 100% sure, it was a really long time ago. But her name does sound familiar
      And in the video linked where I show this technique there is a link to the class itself.

    Is connecting Paybal account very important for just a start? Cuz i still don't have one and I'm worried it'll effect my store 💔

    • @MeyTribe
      @MeyTribe  ปีที่แล้ว

      I will assume you meant Paypal... it is crucial to connect the shop to paypal, or to any other acceptable payment method, as these companies are not legally allowed to let you sell without having the option to pay you.

    Hi Mey. I have a question. When you open a Paypal account as a seller in POD platforms, do you open a personal account or a business account. Thanks for the information.

    • @MeyTribe
      @MeyTribe  ปีที่แล้ว

      To my knowledge you don't need a business account for that.
      However, that could also be a geo matter, as my Paypal account is Israeli, and differs from other paypal accounts.
      (for example, my friend who has a paypal account in France can take out money from Paypal to a bank in the EU, which I can't)

      @@MeyTribe Hey Mey. Thanks for the prompt response. I think I will go into paypal and read their information on the matter as I live in Latin America and as you say, there might be a difference by region. I really didn´t think of doing that before. Thanks again.

    Can't get my phone number verified, been weeks (Anyone here has an idea about this) -- SOLUTION?

    • @MeyTribe
      @MeyTribe  ปีที่แล้ว

      The only people who would have solutions for you are employees of RedBubble (if the code isn't sending) or the employees who work for your phone provider (if the problem is with receiving the text)

    Even zazzle and spreadshirt will do the same thing if the big boys are doing it then the dominos will fall on all platforms.

    • @MeyTribe
      @MeyTribe  ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm not sure Zazzle would look at RedBubble as the "big boy" - especially when Zazzle has existed longer and has so many more products.
      They have added extra fees if you price your commission higher though. that was about 2-3 months ago.

    Are you not just proving they give premium to those who shouldn't whilst large sellers get screwed with standard. Everyone should boycott them until they stop cheating people
