Tyler, I love how you demo the finished product at the beginning of the video before going into the build. I wish more TH-camrs would use that model. Keep up the good work.
Feeling to make to sure it's flush @ 3:38. That's why I like your videos. You truly show attention to detail. Even on your own storage cabinet. Now that's American craftsmanship.
+The Hamlin Woodshop Well....to be honest it didn't exactly go together like that the first time but that is the magic of video editing! Thanks for the awesome comment man, means a lot.
Really nice build - and I always get a kick out of seeing and hearing your kids running around - mine are teens, and they always want to be in the shop. Difference is they are now building their own things!
What a great idea...The kids moved my hobby shop from the barn to the garage and the space is limited...this will work wonderful in the new shop...Thanks for sharing Tyler G.
Nice design and build. I like how you show the finished build in the beginning. Do yourself a big favor and get a tracksaw for those big plywood breakdowns. Worth the investment.
Nice storage solution, Tyler. I recently made a similiar drill press cabinet, and labeled the forstner and spade bit holders with a fine point sharpie. Or you could use a label maker. No guess work, grab what you need and go!
+Scott Hillegass Was thinking of CNCing all the sizes into the holders but a sharpie will be more efficient and just as good! Thanks for watching Scott.
Thanks Michael! A clean shop is a safe shop and brews good thinking. Orange is the best. Saw your post on g+ the other day.....glad your getting back into the craft and it's sad what forced you away.
I was looking for a storage idea for my drills, I will be making this. I love that your kids are with you in the shop. Get some projects with them it will be great for some of us old guys who's kids have moved on to bigger and better things. Thanks for the great videos.
Thanks for the kind and encourage words Frank. We do catch some grief from other viewers (very few) about the dangers of having them in there but we think the benefits outweigh the potential danger. We all walk down to the stairs, drive our cars and cross the street right?
nice that your kid can explore woodworking in such a good workshop. my grandpa let me sit on his huge workbench while he was woodworking or doing some metal stuff. later on I started my own little wood projects and today I have my own workshop but I am still wellcome in his. I dont know if you did already but please think about ear-protection and stuff like this for your kid as well. by the way you got one more subscriber here :)
+Timo Klaas They each have their own muffs and I try to keep them on but you can only do so much with kiddies. Thanks for the kind words and for watching!
“EXCELLENT” build Tyler!!! This is exactly what I’ve been looking for ‘cause I am having the same problem as you “were”. I guess I need to get busy. Can’t wait!!! Thanks for sharing.
Hey Tyler, great project. Just a little suggestion... if you had drilled those hanging bit holders at a 15 or 20 degree outward angle you could have placed them a little closer together and still been able to get the bits out without binding on the holder above. Cheers.
Tyler another awesome project!!! I can't wait to finish my shop and hopefully make some video's this summer you've inspired me so much to step up my woodworking thanks and keep the video's coming.
Hi, I know lots of time has passed since this was posted, but I still have to say that I hope your little helpers wear ear and eye protection in your shop. That said, this an excellent setup and sharing the plans is a generous move. Thank you, I subbed.
Great setup Tyler !!.. I've just finished my own charging station / drill bit storage unit along with some clamp racks ! Was interesting to see your take on it . I still have to make something to store my Forstner bits so might be borrowing some of your ideas !!.. Thanks for posting , Trev
nice job.... maybe making one this weekend.. PS, your basement ceiling height kills me. I hit my head once a week...lol.. thanks again.. keep the projects coming
Nice, I need to build one. Same here all my drill related items are spread around my shop. Do you have a hole saw? Just curious because I didn't see one. Mine will probably go in that drawer.
+Luis Figueroa I do have a adjustable hole saw and it's in the drawer! So much better to have everything on one spot and visible, saves a lot of time. Thanks for watching!
Nothing better then a great French Cleat system! Love hearing the kids in the background! Kids are best when helping in the shop!
+Wood By Wright Thanks man! The kids are the best down there.....always making something that I need to clean up.
Yup. not to mention as they get older they become more and more useful in the shop!
Tyler, I love how you demo the finished product at the beginning of the video before going into the build. I wish more TH-camrs would use that model. Keep up the good work.
Those are some of the cleanest plywood drill holes I've ever seen. Sharp!
Thanks man!!
What a neat, tidy, practical build! The nicest cordless tool storage vid on TH-cam!
+42lookc Thanks for the super comment!

Really nice build - and I always get a kick out of seeing and hearing your kids running around - mine are teens, and they always want to be in the shop. Difference is they are now building their own things!
+Burke does DIY That's a good thing....besides they are using all your tools! Thanks for watching Burke.
I love how your kids are always in the background. That's true life man. Mytoddler is always wanting to help. Great build. I think I might build this!
+David Hale Yes it is....and they really enjoy coming down there! Free plans for this if you want them on my website....it will be totally worth it!
What a great idea...The kids moved my hobby shop from the barn to the garage and the space is limited...this will work wonderful in the new shop...Thanks for sharing Tyler G.
I really like the idea of the mini French cleats inside the cabinet.
That turned out great! Excellent job Tyler and your helper is adorable.
+Red Beard Carpentry & Woodworks Thank you! Yes I have some adorable helpers!!
Nice design and build. I like how you show the finished build in the beginning. Do yourself a big favor and get a tracksaw for those big plywood breakdowns. Worth the investment.
Cleanest workshop I have ever seen.
Nice project. All that is missing is is a UT Volunteer sticker to go with the orange color.
I love the narration by the shop helpers. JimE
+Jim E Thanks for watching Jim!

Sweet build. Sounds like you have some great little future woodworkers helping. That is so cool.

It made me laugh when I was editing! Meant to put an arrow in the video to point it out but forgot. Thanks for watching!
Sweat build Tyler. Getting organized is always a major improvement, and I love the color!
Thanks Michael! A clean shop is a safe shop and brews good thinking. Orange is the best. Saw your post on g+ the other day.....glad your getting back into the craft and it's sad what forced you away.

Awesome! Thanks for the encouragement about the kids, we think that it's really important for them. Thanks for watching!
love it that your kid is there with you I did the same with my kids good for you
Thanks for the kind and encourage words Frank. We do catch some grief from other viewers (very few) about the dangers of having them in there but we think the benefits outweigh the potential danger. We all walk down to the stairs, drive our cars and cross the street right?
What an amazing drill station. I'm gonna have to give that a try.
Love seeing the kids in the video. Teach em while they are young.
+Richard Mackenzie Thanks Richard! Be sure to shoot me a picture if you build it!
