- This film presents the work of the UN treaty body system which monitors the implementation by States of the core international human rights treaties. Since the film's release, an additional human rights treaty has entered in force (the International Convention for the Protection of all Persons from Enforced Disappearance), bringing the total number of international human rights treaty bodies to ten.
The content of the film is the sole responsibility of the Office of the UN High Commissioner for the Human Rights. It was produced with the financial assistance of the European Union but does not necessarily reflect its views.

I would like to know that What is the Value of Human rights Commission's at the United Nation? Are the able to decide and rendered decisions on their Own or they dominate by the Country's commission such as permanent mission of such as Canada or other countries to the UN? Since Human rights Commission at the UN established by these powerful countries How can they decide against them if they find them guilty?

Governments can be named and shamed on the global stage for having HR issues that they are not addressing. This can affect trade, and alliances. So there can be consequences. Generally speaking most nations do try.... a bit.
