- Nestled on the south coast of Jamaica on the shimmering Caribbean waters, lay the legendary pirate stronghold of Port Royal. From the late 17th century to the Early 18th century this bustling port city earned a fearsome reputation as the mecca of pirate activity.

Black Sails the Netflix miniseries is also a great pirate show with some historical figures and facts thrown in. Port Royal is in it as is Charles Vane, Calico Jack, and Anne Bonnie.
Im Jamaican but never been to that side of the island. I wish the government would do more develop the area it would make a great historic site.
Absolutely.
Although part of the old Port Royal is sunken, it should be promoted on tourist brochures, and protected as an historical site. ⛵
Definitely, I agree.
Great vid chap
Appreciate it, thanks for watching.
Awesome video. I loved it. 👍💪
Appreciate that, thanks for watching. I have something similar in the works.

“A wretched hive of scum and villainy.”
Great video!
Cheers, glad you enjoyed it
Great. May you grow more

Leftenant. Loo tenant is somebody who rents a bog. As my platoon sergeant in my basic British Army training pointed out. Enjoyable video.
Yea dam Americans
@@jackjosh1981 i'm sure even americans spell it 'damn'. I'll let you suss out what a 'dam' is. Small clue: think "Hoover". Yea indeed.
@@mindless-pedantgeez what a dick comment
@@mindless-pedant😂 sorry but it takes a certain type to jump on ppl for grammar in the comments section, not for me thanks
@@Gossthedon Don't understand the point you're trying to make. Enlighten me.
Well, you can't do both. Promotion to tourists, especially divers, will destroy it.
Interesting. Now someone has invented a “Golden Age of Piracy.” Didn’t seem to exist before all those Johnny Depp movies. How romantic murder, pillage, and rapine can be…..
“Because that’s history- not what happened, but what people make themselves believe must have happened.” - Alistair Cooke
It existed long before the Pirates of the Caribbean movie and the "Golden Age" has been used by journalists and historians from George Powell in 1894 to John Fiske in 1897. It's not glorifying what was done, it is named "Golden Age" because that's when piracy was at it's peak.
@@TalesofTimeYTExactly this. Aside from some movies, no one really glorifies piracy in that time period.
Ai art ruined a good video
What parts and what specifically about those parts made it unwatchable for you? Is it because you don't like AI art, or
you dont mind it sometimes but don't like the way some of it looked or was it something else? Feedback/Criticism appreciated I'm trying to improve with each video.
@@TalesofTimeYT maybe its just me, I don’t like it, takes me out of it regardless which channel, feel like its the lazy way out, we have so many cool paintings in the public domain, spend the extra hour and find art related to the topic
@@russku8529 I do spend a good amount of time looking for images to fit what I'm talking about and at times I feel some of the AI art does a better job of showing that. I do agree with you that the art is better, when it's available but I can't always find what I want. I do genuinely appreciate the feedback, I am trying to learn and improve with each video.
Seagulls should not be the background to spoken word. Seagulls sounds are recognizable, not pleasant. It gives the speaker the grating sound of male puberty.
No problem, I appreciate the feedback, will keep in mind for future videos.
What a weird thing to get in a tizzy over. Of course recognition is why the sound of seagulls is used.
