I taught at a community college Film/Television/Media program for 23 years. The first day of class, to give my students a taste of reality, I almost exclusively showed them "Living in Oblivion." Sometimes I would alternate with "Lost in La Mancha." The first time I saw Living in Oblivion I was awestruck that it mimicked my aspirations (and heart breaks) of working in the industry. And I mean right down to my girlfriend dumping me in the middle of working on a film together.
A perfect tribute to deferred payment, low budget filmmaking. All involved excelled. Navigate to IMDB, look up the film "Frozen Scream" and read my review titled, "Seen it, Horrors, I worked on it!" That was MY Living in Oblivion. I'd put the link here but I believe it would get deleted. THANK YOU, Thank You, thank you, for allowing me to go back and laugh at one of the worst period of my life. I will always treasure this film.

One of the best films ever,satire is the hardest and Tom is a genius end of story! Every person I meet seems to want to make films for the wrong reasons they seem to think it’s all easy!
