Hi All! If you've been following our channel from the beginning, you'll recognize this dish as our first video, but the video and dish result quality was not on par with what we wanted. It was always in our list to redo an improved version so here it is! It's been a long journey and we've improved a lot as cooks with so much research and practice. Hope you enjoy!
Awesome video!!! The graphics were the show were so cool! The attention to detail makes the presentation better! Thanks for reposting one of my favorite dishes! 🙏🏼
The sauce is amazing on this dish. But you left out the mirin! I used about 4 parts each wine and mirin to 1 part soy sauce and butter. It's fantastic.
@@ATasteofAnime Thanks! But it's not mine. From the show, "sweet sake" is really "mirin." The proportions are up to you, but I cooked mine in the same pan I used for the "pork" roast, so it made a really delicious gravy. I used about equal parts Malbec and mirin, and 1/4 that amount of butter and soy sauce, and it was really good. th-cam.com/video/0pupIkOBKi8/w-d-xo.htmlm22s
The roast technique was great, but the sauce looks atrocious. First reduce the wine to half, then add soy sauce, reduce slightly more, remove from heat and then add cold butter (roughly three times more than whats shown in anime) and stir in to emulsify. Thats how you get a proper thick sauce instead of the watery/oily mess you made. I know you did it according to the anime, but they got the technique wrong...
I dont know if im being stupid but what temperature was the onion and mushrooms done it ? And do the potatoes have anything added to them as the are being mashed for example butter and milk ?

one of the very first dishes in the anime.
The hook! After this dish a lot of people just wanted to watch more of this anime!
I’ve tried this one before and OMG! Amazing! Loved the flavor of the bacon with the potato. Mostly when the bacon is crunchy!
Yup! It's a really unique but delicious dish!
That Makes It Clear, Anime Makes Food Look Way More Better Than It Would Look If Made In Real Life.
Anime > IRL anyday

That's a great tip! Didn't know mirin would go well with it, we'll have to give that try! Thanks!

I don't like mushrooms, but I would probably try this with it anyway.
You can really taste the mushrooms since they're blended with the potatoes. Definitely give it a try!

Uh, sorry if I'm bothering you but were you using thick-cut bacon or something else cause the recipe said that it must me thick-cut.

A Taste of Anime ayyyyy :D
Can use Red Grape Juice?
how long do you let the wine simmer and butter
Just until it comes into a boil, but if you want to get rid of the alcohol completely you can leave it boiling a bit longer. Hope that helps!
A Taste of Anime awesome thank you so much. Me and my parents are going to make this this weekend using this video so this really helps thank you
Of course! Hope you guys have fun making it! :) You can also use cooking wine instead of red wine if you really don’t want alcohol btw.
How many servings is this .o.
This is for 1 serving!
@@ATasteofAnime thank you!
@@potatobanana1225 Of course!
Did you use a Pinot noir wine, or what kind of wine did you use?
Any kind of red wine works, we used pinot noir though.
Awesome thank you so much!
You forgot to add sake ( in the anime it says he put sake in the sauce)
Missed that one!
