i know these are 7 years old & not the kind of stuff you're currently focusing on your channel on, but i want to let you know that i really love watching these clive barker retrospectives. i started reading him late last year, and it's been kind of a big deal for me intellectually, emotionally, spiritually... etc. i feel like nobody gets me when i talk about it, and these old videos make me feel like someone else does definitely get it. i had read the first couple books of blood and the hellbound heart, then cabal was the stone that fell into place and made me realize that continuing to read barker's work was going to be a really big deal in my life. thank you for making these videos & leaving them up for us to enjoy!

Cabal is my favorite Barker novel. It's just so so amazing. I'm thinking it's time to reread this one again very soon. Thank you for filming this!!

Your interpretation and analysis is spot on , in my opinion. Clive work is bizarre; most definitely. Looking back on his works at an older age, it would be a challenge to revisit. Even his art is a manifestation of a crazy and creepy mind as opposed to Leonardo. Something tells me to steer away from him. He's mental reflection expressed in art is a testament that evil and hell exists in the real world and on the other hand what he doesn't produce, good and heaven must exist. Because he tapped into the other dimension so profoundly teasing the normality of the good human being with his own will; in such a way that inspires the reader to want to seek actual truth and guidance in own life.

Thanks for this very insightful comment. You put in words something that I kind of sensed, but never articulated clearly, and for this I'm grateful. Reading Barker's book as a young man made me a better person. It helped me to accept myself more, it opened my mind, helped me to be more tolerant and inspired me to better myself. Thanks to Barker I knew there was something worth striving for, he showed me the world of possibilities. I also feel it's going to be a challenge to revisit his work, but I'm willing to give it a shot. I'm starting gently with Galilee...

I thought this one was one of Barker's weaker stories.

I personally wasn't really into Cabal. It was too short of a book for the amount of ideas and things that it's trying to tell. It needed to be a proper novel when it comes to page count in my opinion. Because like this, just as it started to get interesting, it ended.
