Hi Kev, was it just the 135 degree bends you had to modify the trim for, or the 45 degree too? I'm having trouble finding anywhere that does anything other than 90 degree roof trim, and I need a 45.
    Cheers

Hey Patrick, I basically used 90 degree roof trims, mitre / cut them, then used a heat gun to manipulate them into the correct shape, then used black silicon to fill in.

Thanks for another useful video! Always good to have a nose around the inside and roof :)
What's your longest span on the roof joists there?
Did you rip your own firring strips, or buy them pre-made?

Longest joist span is about 5.3 meters, but as you can see they get shorter and shorter. All the span tables I found online related to all the joists being the same length, impossible to find some info which would accommodate this sort of design. So for the roof, I doubled up the 2 longest joists. When I was walking on the roof, it was very very sturdy. Firring strips I ordered from my local wood yard (PJ Supplies), they should be 1 in 60 fall (100mm to 0mm over 6 meters), but once cut it was from about 90mm to 0, but this was still plenty enough fall / angle to be within the minimum required for my EPDM roof (Rubber 4 Roofs).

@@speedyrazor1 Hmm, yeah, good point on the spans....do you size for the single longest span, or maybe exclude the 3 or so longest.
Ah, yes, I see in the video you doubled up as you mention - makes sense. Reckon I could save about 100mm on the span length doing that, or more if I doubled up on the middle 3 joists.

@@patrickloftus As I was using Permitted development here in the UK, I had to keep my total roof height under 2.5 meters, so roof joist height was a real concern, as this effects the span, so I sort of took best guess, within reason.
