    • @RobbieKhan

      My roof wasn't slow to move, just the final stage of open or close wouldn't work because of the worn out motor centre as shown and the worn out top cover. If your roof is slow, then the actual pump cannister itself inside the boot behind the carpeting may be faulty or low on hydraulic fluid so needs inspecting.

    • @RobbieKhan
      @RobbieKhan  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Do you hear the clicking noise? If the motor under the rear seat as shown is spinning then the motor plastic bit may have gone like mine did otherwise the hydraulic pump inside the boot area may be faulty/lost pressure due to a leak of fluid.

    • @RobbieKhan
      @RobbieKhan  17 วันที่ผ่านมา

      These seem to be issues unrelated to the roof motor as the boot lid not opening with the fob has nothing to do with the roof mechanism so the roof not opening will likely be related to the issue you have with the boot lid. Run a diagnostic scan which should list what is triggering the issue.

    If this is the issue, does the complete roof not move anymore or just the cover in the back where the roof slides in?
    For me only that cover doss not open anymore the rest of the roof goes up and then its like its just waiting for the cover to open but it wont.

    • @RobbieKhan
      @RobbieKhan  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      This issue affects the first and last stage of the whole roof process, so would affect the cover initial lift too depending on the state of the motor tooth and gears I'd say

    Hi there,
    Thanks a lot for this video! I've got the clicking sound, so going to look into the motor as suggested; however, I noticed that while looking online for the part mentioned, this comes up instead: "Bosch Windscreen Wiper Motor 0390201944", which is around £32 and doesn't need to be imported. Is that the exact same part as the one mentioned?

    • @RobbieKhan
      @RobbieKhan  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It looks similar, maybe the wiper motor and roof motor parts are the same, comparing the pics side by side they look the same so wouldn't be surprising. I would suggest asking if the seller accepts a return just incase but otherwise I'd give it a try.

    • @RobbieKhan

      @@alis.g1613 That's how mine started failing. You could just take the motor apart easily and inspect the plastic shaft to see if it's worn. Of so just buy a new motor and do the same job I did.
      Could also be the plastic top cover of the main housing. Well worth fixing that as a preventative measure as it will fail without question with the aluminium one.

    Nice video. Mine only opens about 1/4 of the way then get error msg and blinking red light. I haven’t heard the click specifically, and prior owner had replaced the hyd pump thinking that was the issue. We read some codes and got a cowl sensor error but even that isn’t consistent. Any thoughts? This motor acts to pull the roof back toward the cowl correct?

    • @RobbieKhan
      @RobbieKhan  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      There are various sensors throughout the whole roof mech so could be any of those, the cowl might refer to the bit that lifts up to stow away the roof though so those are easy to reach as they are in plain sight - Could be worth a check. Otherwise a wire might have pinched and got caught!

    • @RobbieKhan
