Ok so I think there needs to be a docuseries with Bobby and Sung called “finding joy”. Where they travel to the world’s happiest places to try and figure out how to be joyful and live in the moment.

At 43:25 they talk about them both being 52, with Bobby being born in September and Sung in April. So Bobby says "you're a little older". But in reality, Bobby turns 53 in September THIS YEAR (17 September 1971), while Sung already turned 52 in April this year (8 April 1972). So it is Bobby that is actually older 😊. Sorry for taking your time with this useless information, but it was a fun moment worth looking deeper into 😂.

I remember taking my granny shopping at Nordstrom. She’s from a little town in Mississippi so she had never shopped at a designer store before. She was planning a trip to Bahrain to see my uncle. I set her up with a personal stylist in both the Designer shoe and encore clothing departments. I remember how apprehensive she was. Looking at the prices and fusing at me for offering to buy her something that expensive. But after a while she fell right into it. I told the stylists to give her everything that her heart desired. She left with a couple pairs of designer shoes and a few outfits. We ate at the cafe inside of the store. She said that she had never experienced anything like it before. Everyone’s parents deserve to experience the finer things in life. It’s amazing that we all experience insecurities in our lives. Love your parents while they are here. Because tomorrow isn’t promised!

I love Sung Kang💙, he has a whole personality , he's humble, coherent, and gives off a good and genuine energy. This part where he talks about his restaurant is very interesting.
this is one of my fav episodes, sung pulling the curtains back on the struggles of being asian, growing up in america, I’m about the same age as you guys, it’s kind of hip to be korean now, but it wasn’t so, we just stuck to our studies because we saw it as the path to success, it was revealing to hear that han from the fast and furious movies, had to run a restaurant so he could feed his family, thank you for being so honest and vulnerable, wish you the very best and may God bring your dreams to come true and for sure perhaps as a director, love you guys, thanks bobby doing the show and putting out great content
I remember seeing Sung at a bar in Koreatown in California when I was in college. He was chill a.f. just like he was here…glad Bobby treats him like a real one
Haven't watched Tigerbelly in a minute. However, I have thoroughly enjoyed this episode...to the point where I have watched it three times today. Best one to date in my opinion! Sung seems like such a genuine person!
Im 48 and I grew up in Louisiana...from grade school to high school. Being Korean and a female...i too had to fight all the time from grade to grade...and do my best to protect myself from the jokes and bullying ... I relate so much guys. And its so true ..youre just surviving and you dont understand why people do the things they do to isolate you and remind you how different you are and your presence on Earth is questionable.
I'm mexican and grew up around mexicans. I always had to fight just cause i was taller than most and a female. If you're any different in any way, you get picked on. It's not just cause you're asian or a woman. If you grew up in korea and are a little chunkier or had some slight imperfection according to society, you'd be picked on. People can be cruel in any place or setting.

Totally random, but I used to go to Saketini pretty regularly. Great food, I only saw Sung there once. Was too shy to ask for a photo or anything, but he was super nice to us. When it just opened I think Sung had only been in Tokyo Drift in terms of the F&F franchise, so I think he was still relatively unknown as an actor.

So much of what was discussed here resonated with me. I’m sure what was described (feelings of guilt when enjoying things our parents could not/how frugal our parents live and their feelings of not deserving to enjoy the fruits of their labor through us) is not unique to us Korean-Americans, but man did it feel like I was talking to myself/my Korean guy friends while I was listening to you. Bobby, not sure if you read these comments but a funny story amongst my guy friends is a story my very animated buddy tells about when he met you. He forgot his phone at the comedy studio where you performed in San Jose and he yelled out “Hyung! Bobby hyung!” because the bouncers wouldn’t let him go back in to find his phone but you helped him find it. It’s a funny story because it’s something my friend would do in a desperate situation like that but it’s heartwarming to know you looked out for my brother, our Korean brother. You have our deepest respect. My childhood friend who took his own life last year told me to leave the world in a better place than we found it and man, you are doing exactly that. Too bad we continue to suffer along the way with the trauma and hardship we grew up experiencing (Korean dads man), but I hope you can at least know that a random group of Korean dudes laugh at our buddy’s story and toast a drink to you from time to time. You’re an awesome dude.
In all of the MadTV Korean Soap, the funniest thing is that everything that Bobby speaks is actually not what is in the subtitles. I don't speak very good Korean, but so it was hella funny to me.
Really enjoyed this one today. Sung is such a lovely man, the kind of person. Who brings calm into a room. It was so funny seeing him interact with Bobby , who is dynamic and full of energy. You can def see , they have an appreciation and love for each other. I mostly enjoyed them , all talking about how they have trouble experiencing joy. And how that came from their parents . It touched my heart , to hear Sung talk about his mum, living in the basement of her apartment building. But not feeling deserving to , enjoy the upper apartment she owns for herself. It’s so sad to me . Reminds me of my own parents. It’s generational I think . Great pod . Ps who knew there were blue bananas in the world ! ❤
The K drama spoof is LITERALLY my favorite skit in madtv or snl history. Its hilarious. The subtitles not being able to keep up with the dialogue cracks me the fuck up every time. I remember watching it the night it aired, on a 10 inch tube tv in my room.

This is my favorite Sci-fi show.
Science Alert
The K drama spoof is LITERALLY my favorite skit in madtv or snl history. Its hilarious. The subtitles not being able to keep up with the dialogue cracks me the fuck up every time. I remember watching it the night it aired, on a 10 inch tube tv in my room.
40:01 not them basically describing the movie twins with Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny devito but the Asian version 😂
That skit was too real... Korean movie watchers will know and relate😅
I've always thought Sung was a hottie but never knew what a great guy he really is. He truly is! He has a way of making you feel comfortable and what a great listener he is! I feel like no matter what you're talking about, it's ok, he's not going to judge you but he really cares about what you're saying 🤗🌷🩷
Sung is so fucking chill I love it. I can easily see myself re-watching this episode down the road which I don't say too often about new TB
