    What a wonderful holiday you must have had!! I bet there are fewer charging points for electric vehicles than there are in England!! And I imagine they’re in better located!!

    I love dogs - IN THE RIGHT PLACE!! And I don’t think that with the head sticking through the van window is particularly safe!!

    Well, I’m not going to be getting the Nissan, but I’m certainly going to have an electric camper!! She’s a Vauxhall Combo Life Electric with a Wheelhome Vikenze III conversion.

    BTW, now you've done the most remote pub, you'll have to do the highest at Tan Hill!

    Stunning part of the world. And the larger battery is certainly making that type of trip entirely normal. Just need a few 7kw chargers in the overnight stopping sites and will be a very stress free trip.

    • @GlynHudson
      @GlynHudson  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Indeed, even a campsite hookup is enough. Although, these days there are so many rapid chargers, we never had to go out of our way to charge

      @pauldunlop1 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@GlynHudson Have you tried using a campsite hookup? Are campsites OK with that?

    • @GlynHudson
      @GlynHudson  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@pauldunlop1 yes, we use campsites hookups all the time. Never had a problem. Although I've never specifically asked about EV charging, I just ask for a hookup which is totally normal for campervans. The van only uses 10A out of the maximum 16A a hookup is rated for and I try to plug in late in the evening.

    Hi Glyn, we have a e-NV 200 Camper van (40 Kwh) too. We are planning a trip to scotland this summer. Which RiFD-Cards and charging apps do you recommand?
    I have a lot of problems getting acces to the ChargePlace Scotland. You need a UK-Bank Account to get access.
    I have a lot of other Apps, Cards etc. , but most don't work in UK. Brexit :(

    • @GlynHudson
      @GlynHudson  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      In Scotland the Charge Place Scotland RFID is very useful. The RFID card is more reliable than the app. I would recommend emailing CPS to ask if you can sign up without an UK address. Brexit is a nightmware :-(

    I live in the Highlands and am thinking of buying the Red ENV200 which is on Auto trader, with 40kwh battery.
    It appears that you have not had any rapidgate issues.

    • @GlynHudson
      @GlynHudson  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If your regularly drive more than 200 miles in a day and rapid charge more then 3 times I a single day you will notice the 3rd rapid charge is a bit slower. It's not a major issue, the 3rd rapid charge will take about 10min longer. It can be somwhat negated by avoiding sustained driving above 60mph

  • @antcooper
    @antcooper 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Do you know roughly how much you spent charging - or were most of the charge points free?

    • @GlynHudson
      @GlynHudson  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      We sent about £60 in total for 1800 miles. The CPS network is now taking payment for most rapid charge locations. I don't mind in paying a fair price for charging, it will encourage investment in even better infrastructure

    Hi Glyn, are you considering upgrading van with pop top roof?

    • @GlynHudson
      @GlynHudson  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      No, I decided against a pop top when I did the conversion. I also use the van for carrying ladders, wood and bikes on the roof which is not compatible with a pop top! I also quite like having good lighting in the middle of the van which is not possible with a pop top.

    • @slovenanzulovic37
      @slovenanzulovic37 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@GlynHudson Right, thought you had proper reason :) I am thinking of getting 2nd hand e-nv200 and trying to figure out is it worth getting pop top (not a cheap option, round 3k quids). Think i might opt in for 2nd hand 40kW instead a 24kW one with pop top. Keep up with the vids! Cheers!

    • @gavcnr
      @gavcnr 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@slovenanzulovic37 @Glyn Hudson if you're able to do it yourself, you can get a pop top for £1,800 depending on the design, If I can get hold of a salvage 40k battery then I'll do the upgrade along with the pop top
