Water cooling added running it hard on 3s never got above 90 degrees . Spun the cable with zero to airborne launch so new cables on order, bummed but not disappointed in the performance. I love the sound too hot a three blade prop coming. Peace from michigan.
I didn't add water cooling to my esc and it was only getting about 115 but I will add if needed tried to limit the holes in the transom to a bare min. Need to figure out good hatch mount, tape for now.
Try different angle on the motor was playing with mine yesterday but water was too choppy. Tell ya that was one of the easiest builds ever. Love the way it handles and turns as good left and right.
Maidened mine yesterday choppy water couldnt open it up even at 50% that sucker moves out on 3s tempted to try 4s next paired motor with spectrum 100 amp esc, lost prop using reverse my bad.
Did you ever get this trimmed out ? As it looked like a cool idea , (try not to put trim tabs on a hull ). I take it you have the option to angle the prop down a couple of mm for trim as its a surface drive prop ?
@@jaymeparker27 I tried tabs in the Uk multi class, they shaved off 1 mph , so they had to go , and i trimmed the hulls in other ways, the main way being the shaft angle.
I tried adjusting the prop angle +/- it changed the ride attitude but still didn't like it. The tabs did shave a few mph off but it is better in the turns and flat on the straights with a neutral position on outboard and the tabs about 1mm from flush with bottom of hull.
@@jaymeparker27 Nice to know , as i was thinking of a scratch built cat and forged carbon out drive for my next project, as there is nothing exiting on the market will have to watch tons of clips and get on and make all the moulds.
i have that exact same size tfl out board it had a little aerostart outrunner on it. i put it in a little 16 inch rigger. i have the exact same size blue efilte outrunner off a helicopter sitting next to it but i am going to use can motor instead. i run the trtansom fairly level . you can screw on a carbon fiber or whatever to give it a better hydrofoil stabilizer....th-cam.com/video/sj29V9arMdM/w-d-xo.html

Nice maiden run and great speed! A couple of spare flex shafts won't hurt. Greasing them after every pack helps too, like you said 👍

Yeah I'd suggest the water cooling. The no1 killer of electronics is heat. I just use tape on most of my boats.
I would trim a bit.

I did. The trim tabs helped alot. Now it runs flat and dry
