**Actually, it's my graduation ball! I just put 'senior prom' because graduation balls aren't well-known worldwide, and they're basically the same thing**

I remember I once wanted these black shoes for my school & I had the same type that I needed, but in pink & blue. The pink ones were old, so I thought about painting it black so that no money gets wasted & my work is done. I went to school that day, and I told my friends about what I did with it & they were like, "whoa. Really? Oh"

Even if I managed to make my own dress for prom, I wouldn't trust myself to actually wear it to prom because I'm sure it'd fall apart in like 0.00000000001s.

actually do wear it because that speed, (assuming the distance is like a meter between you and ground and that your dress parts have friction) would confirm the existence of non-pseudo tachyons and thus change physics(and therefore science) forever
Commission someone else or get classes seriously I learned to sew the basic in 2 weeks and it was so easy once I understood how it worked it was pretty simple now I’m a lot quicker too I recently made a simple fully lined no decor dress with a ruffled side with jeweled tulle on the bottom edge in 7 hours and a unlined basic pencil skirt dress with a center back zipper in 4 days only 2 hours a day. I’m not saying you’ll catch on right away but practice makes progress and it might be something fun to do in your free time. I design Halloween costumes, stage attachés, and wedding dresses for fun.

I have seen similarly shaped skirts what noticed with the one here is since the bone was sewn to a fabric that’s reinforced with the outer material it has tendency to show when the designer/owner wore it.

Many acrylic paint brands have a medium you can add to the paint that turn it into fabric paint. It is then hand washable and line dry. I have used it on ties and other things made with fabric.
I honestly applaud how much patience you have. I would start and after a few hours I would probably call it quits
