    this whole thing made me anxious...Aunt Sandy with the food processor, the knives, the "recipe", the bowl of butter on the edge of the counter and all the Whews!

    not sure why but this feels more chaotic than usual.. I LOVE IT. Also you can hear someone in the background say something at 4:55 "alright" perhaps 🤔

    this clip is edited so weird I feel insane watching it. the silent, extended cutting of the baklava, the shaky camera at 6:05; the classic choppy dubbing

    I have to say - baking a baklava is a very bold and brave project from Aunt Sandy😂

    as a middle eastern person, this can't even be called baklava 😟 that glaze is an ABOMINATION and my ancestors screamed when she suggested maple syrup as a substitute for honey (which is also inaccurate!). if she can find champagne extract in her magical neighborhood grocery store she can find rosewater and cardamom. some things are better left UNsemi-homemade.

      She can’t be trusted with rose water after that one rose episode 😳

      Not only she used almonds??? Baklava is usually made with walnuts or pistachios.

  • @LiamWalds
    @LiamWalds ปีที่แล้ว +29

    at the start of this episode she pulls out onions and mushrooms but doesn’t use them, not for the brie or the fish 🤔 are we in for a cursed cocktail in the next vid?

  • @cinnamonbunz4ever327

    As a Bosnian I'm deeply offended that she refers to this dish as "baklava". The entirety of the country and our ottoman ancestors died twice while watching this.

    • @anthonykuglov1417

      “Our ottoman ancestors”? You must be drinking some pretty strong aunt Sandy’s cocktails to be spewing such absurdities 😂

      @@cinnamonbunz4ever327 yes it did, as it did in Bulgaria, Serbia, Romania and other places. But it’s not about that. You’re not sure what you mean when you say ancestors. It’s good to know something before you talk about it.

      @@anthonykuglov1417 That's why I asked you what you meant. I'm Bosnian so I referred to Bosnia solely, I'm aware the Ottomans also occupied other countries.

    Did anyone else notice the copper food processor and copper Kitchenaid stand mixer? Her small appliances always seem to match her kitchen scape. How on earth does she do that, and what does she do with those appliances after the episode?

    wasn’t sure if it was the vodka-cran I had that made this clip seem extra cursed or what, but after reading the comments it seems like I’m not alone… living for her saying that you could cut them into smaller pieces “like you would put in the freezer” at 5:08 as if that makes sense to anyone at all 😮‍💨😮‍💨😮‍💨
