such as keeping the number of sats you do per year under 6. Saturation diving safety has become very advanced and doesnt involve the same risks and penalties that the stigmas it carries suggest.
Yeah. I know a guy that did sat and said it was relatively safe. But he said he got irritated when they would turn the oxygen too high in the pressure chamber
I've just seen this welding process taking place in a habitat 72 mtr below on Nat Geo. Is it a fully automated Tig process with an Argon shielding gas?
I'll be going to Divers Institute of Technology in Seattle after I graduate next year with my welding associates degree at Pikes Peak Community College for underwater wet welding. I cant imaging hyperbaric welding being any different that welding on the surface. Yeah I know, the atmosphere is a mixture of Helium and Oxygen and the risk of an explosion to be a bit greater as the atmosphere is essentially pure heliumoxide.
Despite the environmental impact of this activity, I always thought is one of the toughest jobs, you have to be a skilled welder/diver. The pay is extremely high since it is a risky job.
The next steps for these guys will be 'Asteroid Miner Welding'. Insane respect for them
