Hello, I have a Model 1700. When I press playback the right reel start, it spins in the opposite direction, as well as while rewinding the tape. In reverse play, it works, but very slowly, and the rewind is fast, do you have any idea where the problem is please
I have this same machine, and my capstan motor has stopped working, but the reel motors work fine forward and reverse- Any suggestions on testing the motor vs the capstan control board? I'm not sure where the problem is originating
I never had the pleasure of using one of these decks, but Matsushita/Technics made one of the most gorgeous R2Rs ever in this machine. Great refurb.

I like how Matsushita labels the PC board with the component reference code. This makes following the schematic to the board so much easier!
