Hi! good games, i have one question - In game 3, coulndt you sell the barn owl to make donation in your last x2 association action? Or were you keeping it on purpose to play it last round?
I think I could have done a couple of things differently to get the win, but I ran out of time. The plan I went with involved playing the Barn Owl after causing the break. I didn't end up needing it because the Tarsier showed up instead. The best play would have been taking 3 x-tokens instead of 5 money and grabbing 3rd partner zoo at the same time. Then causing break. Then grabbing uni + 2 rep and donating. Then animals to finish. This gets me to roughly the same score but lets me finish 1 turn earlier instead of filling map.
Game 1: Your first break really shocks me. Discarding 3 cards instead of selling them can’t be right. And you were quite short of money the whole game.
I mused after the game that I should have played Sea Lion and broke after. With the power of hindsight it's an obvious call. With the information at the time I think I made the right call still. I discard 3 cards, but they also discard 1 and don't get to use their worker. It's obviously bad for me, but worse for them. Both our economies are equally bad because neither played an animal yet. What made it a terrible decision was their reverse uno card playing Red Panda 2nd move after the break. That caught me completely by surprise and meant I couldn't do the planned project in round 2. Delaying that and delaying playing an animal another round is where I lost the game most likely. I also thought all these extra breaks would benefit me because I had super expensive animals (Elephant, Rhino, Eagle). But they had equally expensive animals (Giant Panda, Sumatran Tiger, Eagle) that were also relevant to the base projects. And yes, they got 8 x-tokens from the best Tech Institute I have ever seen. It was a fun game though and one that taught me a lot of lessons!
we need more ark nova content, i love your vids! :) ive learnt so much from you

What's the story behind pronouncing "bear" as "beer" these days?
When JD first started streaming that's how he would pronounce it - Beer.
@@NoWondersTV got it.

Opponent not being able to use worker is probably worse, especially cause it's early game
I really thought he would've won game 1

@@NoWondersTV your logic makes total sense. No worker used first round is usually goodnight
