Lmao its funny how he answers the Mandalorian question and how his wife, who probably knew he was in the season 2 finaly, tried to keep a straight face, yet she kept looking at him as if to see if he somehow slips up and says something wrong 😂😂
About 36:00 Mark is being subtle, but from body language and wording ( notice how careful he is with his words) I can dissect this- He like majority of us rejected those sequels for giving bad story telling. There were some fresh ideas here and there like a stormtrooper protagonist, but overall we were thrown nostalgia morsels to remind us we are watching a star wars movie. People didnt like ESB for a completely separate reason than why the sequels and specifically The Last Jedi was hated so much. We watched star wars, with before that only seeing basic sci fi shows and films that had sequels back then were not as cohesive of a giant plot narrative. For example, if you open up the bible and read a chapter like Exodus. You will have the plot of exodus, but we will also know there is a bigger plot revealed in Genesis, and that it wont get fully revealed till later. George was telling us the heroes journey. So the hero has to fail at some point at a climax. That is ESB. And its brilliant. Star wars was such a fairy tail, even to those in the story. I think ESB has Luke realise life isnt a fairy tale and sometimes you lose, and sometimes people suffer. But the contrast to this dark stuff in the movie was what was revealed to us about the force. ROTJ was a great ending to the saga, but it had a weak opening act, and didnt start to really pick up until after Han's rescue.

We all know Mark is just as disappointed as the rest of us with what Disney/Lucasfilm has done with Star Wars.
