Why is a turbo 4 considered an upgrade ? The 3.5 V6 is ageing because it is so reliable. Makes me wonder if Honda is joining the planned obsolescence club like american car companies. Looks like I'll be keeping my 2018 Ridgeline for a very long time. I do recommend using ATS carbon cleaner in the oil and fuel about every 20,000 mi. It works
Jawdropping style?!? HAHAHAHAHAHA, oookiieee.. Also, dropping the V6 and going to a turbo 4 cylinder has worked soooo well for Toyota, why not follow suit...
I was seriously considering a new Ridgeline in the spring , if they go 4 cylinder and turbo they will lose me as a customer. I was going to downsize now that I am retired, I think I'll keep old my 8 cylinder truck, 4 cylinder turbos are nothing but problens.
One, it’ll use the 10 speed. It’s in the Pilot and soon to be Passport. Two, the turbo four is probably a de-tuned Civic R engine. It’s already bulletproof. Three, they are making a lot of headway with adding additional strength to uni-body’s Four, the current actually has more payload than the Tacoma. Five, it’ll outlast any GM twin or Gladiator. Hey, I’m sold if they don’t mess up the design.
The Ridgeline hauls 4X8 sheets of plywood and drywall flat in its composite bed and they dont move around. The Frontier, Tacoma and Ranger have wheel wells that prevent me from hauling them flat in the bed. The Ridgeline also has a deep large trunk for my tools and the with other three I have to put my tools in the cab. The 2024 Ridgeline has a naturally aspirated V6 and the Tacoma and Ranger have turbo 4 bangers. If they really change that great Honda V6 to a turbo 4 banger then the 2024 V6 is the better truck. The cab in the Ridgeline is wider and more comfortable and the entire ride and stability especially with the high tech all well drive is incredible. If you're doing city driving and haul tools and 4x8 sheets the Ridgeline is hands down the best small truck IMO.
the twin turbo V6 from the MDX type S, would be the best thing they could put in a Ridgleline. As for the turbo 4 banger...... nobody builds a better engine than Honda. Period. If there is any truth too this Honda won't drop the ball. They know how to build a proper Turbo 4. This is not gonna be another Ranger
Enough of the complaints about turbo 4cyl engines. This is a Mid sized truck, it doesn't need a huge gas guzzling 6cyl any longer. Turbo 4s are now reliable, strong and standard on just about everything. What Honda ( and I need) is to NOT go the "Plug in Hybrid" way, and come out with a well designed turbo 4 Hybrid that gets above 30 MPG Combined driving. It doesnt need 6500 lbs towing, 5000 is plenty, its a Mid Sized truck. If they redesign the blan interior, make the Regular Hybrid turbo 4 cyl, and freshen up the exterior to look like a truck in front instead of an oversized civic, they will earn my money. Speaking of which, the above mentioned equiped Hybrid TOP TRIM should be no more than 50k all in Period ! Do that, and Toyota will be crying in their soup ! Honda...You Listening ? You should be !
I totally agree. But the "throw away crap" comment can go for virtually any manufacturer on the road today, especially if you drive the heck out of vehicles everyday for no reason ! Slow down, maintain your vehicle per the manufacturer specs, and almost anything will last a good long time.
These guys are so full of it. They try to guess what the maker will do months ahead of time and then you find out they are way off base. The 2025 is exactly the same as the 2024
Want to see several v6s available from 3.8 dual overhead cam 4 l 4.2 l and on up to four point five liter also available with twin turbo an supercharged versions turn the engine around normal make it rear drive bias with all-wheel drive And R VERSION as well
Amazing! Honda is making the same mistake Toyota has made. They are putting 4 Banger turbo engines in their trucks. Turbos put extreme stress of four cylinder engines.
No, idiot drivers put extreme stress on 4 cyl turbo engines. Stop the zero to sixty peddle drops, at every stop, and learn to drive normally! Maintain your engine, change your oil, drive like gas is expensive which it is, and these engines will never give you any trouble for 200k miles plus.
What a silly video. The colorado makes 310 hp and 430 lb/ft of torque, it's a real body on frame truck, actually looks like a truck, and will eat this thing for lunch.
You're correct...going from a V6 to 4 cylinder is INSANE!
They lost me at the turbo charged four-cylinder. The six cylinder in the Ridgeline is amazingly reliable.
@@ronthompson9036 This whole using a turbo 4 in large vehicles is gonna be a huge disaster, just wait.
This ISN'T a large vehicle!@@ljohnson9440

@@ljohnson9440 I totally agree with you. It seems like manufactures are now not focusing on longevity.
This video should’ve been called “top 6 reasons not to buy the new 2025 ridgeline”
Oh no... another company that drops the 6 for a turbo 4. Toyota is taking a beating because of this.
i can remember the reaction to CVTs. this too shall pass
I will only buy the V6. Don’t trust turbo’s and never will.
same
The B.S is kinda thick in this one !!!!
Sure is. Honda has released any info on 2025 Honda Ridgeline. Clickbait.
Hasn't released
Turbo 4 cyl hell no I'm out.!!
They didn’t do it in 2025!
Not one of these happened for the 25 correct
Correct they just guess at what might happen and are more often wrong than right
if you go to the Honda webpage to build a 2025 it doesn't offer and 4cyl
Just bought one a week ago basically happy with it at this point like all the reviews that are positive.
Jawdropping style?!? HAHAHAHAHAHA, oookiieee.. Also, dropping the V6 and going to a turbo 4 cylinder has worked soooo well for Toyota, why not follow suit...
Since almost all of this video has pictures and action shots of the 2024 model, it falls into the category of TOTAL BS click bait!

I have a 2025 Ridgeline Black Edition. It has a 3.5 V6. They don’t offer a 4 cylinder or a hybrid.
The new model does not include a 4 cylinder or hybrid yet.
That's totally insane bro!

😂 they lost me at turbo charged
jaw dropping extra 20 hp and 30lbs of torque vs a 20 year old motor...LOL
when will the 2025 b available?
I already get 26mpg consistently with my 2019. Remind me again why to upgrade and have a car payment?
FWD or full?
My question is, who are the 21 people who have given a thumbs up to this?
51 and climbing!
What I just commented about was the Ridgeline 2025 with the six cylinder engine not the one in your video with a turbo
Waao very interesting and helpful video thanks for sharing this video

Does the new engine come with the same oil dilution issues the CRV I owned and unloaded had. Never again will I trust these engines.
You would have to be "insane" to watch a vid that has nothing but pictures of the 2024 model, with 2 or 3 computer -generated shots of the 2025.
Takes one to know one!😊
Turbo engine? 4 cylinders? NO, thank you! That's exactly what I don't want.
We want vehicles that last, period. We well not buy throw away crap.
I totally agree.
But the "throw away crap" comment can go for virtually any manufacturer on the road today, especially if you drive the heck out of vehicles everyday for no reason !

Why wouldn't they just switch to the same powertrain as the Pilot? Where is this information coming from?
CHYNA!
These guys are so full of it. They try to guess what the maker will do months ahead of time and then you find out they are way off base. The 2025 is exactly the same as the 2024
Honda need to blow the dust off the inline 5 they have stowed away and turbo that. That would peak my interest.
Want to see several v6s available from 3.8 dual overhead cam 4 l 4.2 l and on up to four point five liter also available with twin turbo an supercharged versions turn the engine around normal make it rear drive bias with all-wheel drive And R VERSION as well
Think I will just hang onto my 2020
That's what I'm seeing as well! LOVE my '20 RTL-E
Clickbait
They are screwing up a good truck. Sales will DROP like a stone. Tacoma is bad now. Ridgeline will be even worse.
Joke waste of Time viewing this, Honda will not do a major update until 26/27 you can take it to the bank.
The truck is only Worth 20 thousand dollars
I wonder if we can just get the new screen on our old Ridgelines!
The Frontier is better.
A Bomb?! Wow...Insane! NO WAY?! 😂
I was considering buy a 2025 but with Honda dropping the V6, then I am out.

4Cyl Turbo and a large screen = Maintenance costs.
STOP with all of the turbo engines 😢😢😢😢😢
If turbo 4 cylinder, I’m out. No thanks.
Another massive fail going to a 4cyl turbo.
Hanging on to my 2022 tried and true J35 NA V6! V-Tech baby!
Another rumors video...useless. I'm looking for a new Avalanche video.
All these 2.4L Turbos are meant to fail by 2030, which will force people into EV offerings by 2030.
Clickbait....
LOL “truck”
Eww dropping a reliable engine for a turbo. Reliability is unknown and now more complex with many moving parts. What can go wrong? SMH.
Fake news. April Fools
Ram charger will blow all this crap away! Cybertruck included
They will be double the price of the Ridgeline.
What a silly video. The colorado makes 310 hp and 430 lb/ft of torque, it's a real body on frame truck, actually looks like a truck, and will eat this thing for lunch.
