    Awesome video! Can I ask how heavy it is? I.e. Could you do something like this with urethane resin for a christmas tree decoration? Or would it be too heavy?

    That is really neat. :) I have a large sphere mold with a wide open top (which is actually the bottom of the piece :p) that I made myself using Oomoo. I may try that out and see how it works. Not as large as the ice mold but pretty good size. :D - Heidi

    Wow!That's a great idea....I think I'll suspend some of my angel wings in the upper part above the shells. Last month on one of our trips I sat down in a pile of sea shells,they are dredging at Myrtle Beach and stirring up alot of shells that are coming ashore and I found A large piece of a sand dollar. It's something we don't find much here anymore, as with all our trips I came home with about 2 bags zip lock gallon bags full of beautiful finds!!!

    • @CraftKlatch
      @CraftKlatch  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Jeanne! I always come home with that too! You better get to work on crafting with all those shells!

    Very cool! Could you use a hot glue gun, to help hold the shells up (starfish)? I think I'd have to add a small polymer clay fish, to go with that big hook! Tfs :)

    • @CraftKlatch
      @CraftKlatch  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think the fish would be a nice touch! I would not use hot glue. I might use the Ultimate glue, or any clear drying glue. There is a good chance you would see the hot glue, since everything is magnified.

    If you don’t have that dremel tool, do people just keep that ridge and is that acceptable? I can’t see me buying one when I don’t do this work typically. I just happened to get a ball mold in with some other jewelry molds I use to make polymer clay jewelry and this requires way too much I’d never waste all my liquid clay for one even to experiment. It would probably take multipke bottles! I just didn’t expect that distinct line. My mold is is a little different than yours though...mine looks like it creates a fitted seal but I’m not sure. Anyway, just wondering since you said tool is optional so you just leave the seam? Thanks so much! I’d like to try it cuz it’s really cool, but I’m not a resin user so I’m at ground zero.

    The hook in the ball gave me an idea - a Swedish or gummy fish on the hook with a sand bottom. It might be a little tricky to thread the wire and hook through the ball top first, so you can hang the fish on it, but I'm sure it's doable. You could even put a few tiny shells or springs of ? for seaweed. Maybe even figure out how to give it a flat bottom to make a paperweight. That would be a cute gift for the fisherman or woman you know.

      The line isn't because of it being in multiple pours, it is actually from where the mold comes together.

    • @IAmTheSkinThief

      You could, you'd just have to immediately clean it after to get the resin off the bristles.

    • @CraftKlatch

      ElfWarriorTariRupel is right. Yes you can use a bristle brush, but make sure you clean it immediately with rubbing alcohol, or it will ruin your brush.
