i have pretty much the same hair type as you and i cut it short into the same cut you had at first a while back and i had the same problem with having to wash my hair every day, but i noticed if i do finger coils with my hair and then cover it up with a scarf at night or when i’m home the next day i can just pick it up a bit and then recoil where needed without soaking my hair with water and it literally takes 10min to do my hair in the morning and i can go 4 days without drenching it with water and product

I shaved my head 3 months ago bc I had a lot of damage over the years. I think I have the same hair type as you because I’m like 3b/3c when I was younger before I straightened my hair all the time I had a touch of 4a too and had thick strands. Because of malnutrition and some scalp problems my hair got really thin and started falling out and now I have like some pieces of hair that are very thin and some hair that’s very course. I’ve been using wild growth oil so maybe that will help get my thicknesses back bc I was having so much breakage it was not fun. I’m gonna try some of these products bc i really don’t know what to do with my hair now lol. Wow I really went on a tangent lol I’m sorry

I use it with my Taliah Waajid Curly Curl cream. & no flakes. Maybe it’s your leave in conditioner? Or curl cream you’re pairing it with
