Автомагистраль А5 Ionia Odos (Ιονία Οδός) являющаяся частью европейских маршрутов E55 и E951, начинается в г.Янина и проходит вдоль западного побережья материковой Греции до Коринфского залива. В Рио она пересекает залив через мост Рио-Антиририо и соединяется с автомагистралью A8 рядом с г.Патры. Последний участок (Пердика-Янина) был завершен 3 августа 2017 года. Время поездки между Антиррио и Яниной сократилось до 1 час 40 минут (было 3 часа и 30 минут).
Motorway A5 Ionia Odos (Ιονία Οδός), which is part of the European routes E55 and E951, starts at Ioannina and it follows the western coastline of mainland Greece down to the Gulf of Corinth. At Rio, it crosses the gulf via the Rio-Antirrio bridge and is connected with the A8 Motorway at an interchange near Patras. The last section (Perdika-Ioannina) was completed on August 3, 2017. The travel time between Antirrio and Ioannina was reduced to 1 hour 40 minutes (down from 3 hours and 30 minutes).

Perfect road and nice views, but last time when we went home was very foggy between Fillipiada and Ionninna, i was relieved when we got off the highway :D

It's new highway. Therefore it seems better.
The biggest compliment I've ever heard for the Greek roads. Until yesterday, however, we were living dangerously (pericolosamente ) on the old roads.
