This is one of the best songs I've ever heard. This song nearly changed me, and was a huge inspiration in my life. I've had the pleasure of listening to this over and over again--along with the rest of the album--while I wrote a few of my fictions. This is one of those songs I can play and depict my own music/movie trailer in my head and write it out (I plan to make a career out of writing, to write fiction professionally). Thank you, Of Machines, for making some of the best music I've heard :)
Found this band late 2012, maybe early 2013. But here I am at 23 in 2018 still getting goosebumps from the intro and feeling the same emotions I did when I was 17. I know I'm not the only one. 😎
Naah you are not the only one. I discovered this band back in 2k12 Somehow earth survived 2012 apocalypse 🤣...some memories are priceless and songs like these keep them alive
this song just took me back i found out about this band pretty much as soon as they released this album, it leaked on strike gently back in the day that was the site to get all the latest leaks in music, this era was amazing. so many good bands,
I always listened to this song not knowing the lyrics and loved it because of how it sounded. came back to listen to it today and it brought me to tears when i decided to click show more... beautiful song. My new #1
The haunting feeling is get listening to this... it brings me back to when I was 18 and someone I loved took their life. It's like it was yesterday when I listen to this album.
I was listing to this song in my car, the first part faded and ended, my friend thought it was over and tried to change it. I'm like, "nah bitch, wait. Best part hasn't even came yet." Hahaha. Great album. Bring Of Machines back-\3
All bands are art. No matter how bad they are. 99% Of bands are driven by something, by some inspiration. How would you feel if you were in a band and people said your band was shitty, and you put your time and heart into it just to have someone bash it.. Have respect for more bands. Just because you don't like them, doesn't mean they still aren't a piece of art.
The break indicates part two. Part one is only about 3:45 long, but rise records messed up and put both parts together. Part two came 'exclusively' when you bought the album. :)
The first 2 minutes are so powerful and emotional. You can just hear the soul they put into their music, it's a shame most bands in this scene nowadays just make breakdown after breakdown instead of putting real feeling into their songs.
Quite the amount, they started a donation pool in Tumblr(Just google Chroma Dreamcoat)to raise funds, thou one of the main reasons for this is that they want to see how much does the public want their music. I may not be a die-hard fan of them, but their music is very good and they should come back. If you like this band Thumbs up so other people can see this! :D
@breakdawnish7 stop what? Woe is me had brilliant vocals and drum patterns that are so unpredictable and straight up awesome. It's like a bunch of awesome parts that come together in the most awesome way. There is a fine line between industry pumped garbage and talented musicians.
EVERYONE a few months ago I said I knew they were going to get back together. It's true, Of Machines facebook page announced a new project! they pretty much started a new band. Native Suns = Of Machines. There has been a few Changes in the members but they said they will be the same or even better! Go check them up on Facebook. Thumbs up to get the message out and go like "Native Suns" on facebook! Thanks!
It's depressing listening to this, i missed this band so much. i would trade woe is me for this band any day. Dylan and bennet wrote lyrics that had a deep emotional meaning.
Agreed. I said its a New Project with Changes in members. 3 of the members of Native sons either covered up in some shows, or were members from the past band that later formed of machines known as We are kings. Sooo some of the members were connected to Of Machines one way or another. But yes they dont really sound similar :l
I know, that's why I added the "there has been a few changes in the members" since some of the people we already involved with OM with one way or another. Hopefully their music is the same or more enjoyable like they stated.
For some reason they kinda remind me of Define the great Line, Underoath for some reason. Maybe it's the Ambient sound in the beginning then a flawless transition to The scremo metal sound. And what I'm trying to say is that At least this song is F'in amazing and I will be looking further into this band.
woe is me isnt just breakdown after breakdown after breakdown, well atleast not number[s], number[s] was actually very good, the structure of every was song was amazing, the music was spectaluar, they new just the right instrument tofill one bit of each song, which leaad to an amazing album. although i agree about your statement. of machines was incredible out there, experimenting where no bands dared to to go, this album was a master piece of post hardcore.
wait so the drummer from woe is me was of machines drummer? side note, both bands are amazing, i literallly just found these guys just 8 minutes ago and i love them already, but i would vote woe is me for sure
Are the high pitch vocals the same singer, or a different person? If so, what's their name? Love the high pitch parts of the song honestly. (Love it all)
hell or high water, fame over demise, desolate (the conductor), I, if not for ourselves, tik tok cover. none of those start w/ breakdowns. looks like you owe me some money bro.
Odd, I never notice you replied. But anyways I completely respect that. But just give this album more listens and it'll slowly kick in how good they are. Every listen you notice something new that you didn't notice before, and you start seeing how special these guys were. One day you'll pick them over Woe.
They took down part 2 tho :'( I know it was just a demo but it was damn good i shoulda downloaded it while i had the chance!!!!! ahha >:o!!!!! praise the music gods for bringing them back
I guess i should have asked everyone if I needed to clarify exactly what i meant... I simply meant that they only made (1) song TITLED with a -----> (Pt)
@RyanVanilla I agree with you on dylan and bennett but I want them to leave austin in Woe, is me Cause a tour with both of these bands at once... That would be the definition of amazing.
This song came back to me just now. I haven't listened to this since I was 18. It's like a time capsule of memories. Who else is here in 2k18
2019 and this song is still rockin my world. 🙌
Forever buddy. Forever.
2k20 my friend. I haven't heard this song since I was 18 as well. It's scary how fast time flies
2022 🖤

Best to come out of the scene, I'll show my kids one day
I still to listening this Album in 2023.
This song is such a fun exercise to cover, but this is so next level. These guys did something special for sure.

Such a fucking amazing band these guys were. Went to high school with the rhythm guitarist.

If you didn't know, the second pair of clean vocals on here were done by Cameron Mizell, the producer.
Getting back together!!! :)
Am I the only one that likes the 2nd half of the song after the long pause more than the 1st....?
the only member of both Of Machine and Native Suns is the Mike who plays guitar
It's cool. You are forgiven. And as do I, i was always curious to see what their future music would sound like.
I like Woe, Is Me too, but "amazing" is an overstatement. Especially now.
This song is so good, how have I just found this band?!
thats the pause before part 2 even though it says part one if you search it up there is no part 2 that seperate

Nice. I'm not trying to fight you but only one member was in Of Machines. We Are Kings turned into OM when they added Anderson.
Vocals are unreal
love this!
The second clean voice from 1:06 to 1:30 was sung by Cameron Mizell, the producer. I always thought maybe Bennett sung that part.
For some reason they kinda remind me of Define the great Line, Underoath for some reason. Maybe it's the Ambient sound in the beginning then a flawless transition to The scremo metal sound. JordPlaysGames Dylan Anderson does the singing and Bennett does the screaming.
