MechWarrior Online is a free-to-play vehicular combat video game, officially launched during September 2013 by Piranha Games for Microsoft Windows. The game takes place within the larger #BattleTech universe. In MechWarrior: Online, players takes the role of a ""MechWarrior"" who pilots large bipedal combat vehicles known as BattleMechs (Mech for short). Players can customize their BattleMech with an array of weapons and equipment, and engage in 12 versus 12 battles, the outcome of which earns the players experience and c-bills for future BattleMech purchases and customization. There are currently seven game modes that involve protecting and attacking a single base (Assault), capturing and holding several points (Conquest), take and hold the center of the map (Domination), attacking a space defense system (Siege/Counter-Attack), protecting and attacking field bases with turrets and walls spread across the map (Incursion), and team death-match (Skirmish).

Saw a Warhammer running tbolts and thought "why?", until I saw the velocity quirk. They're getting crazy with these superpowers lately.

You have a TAG. Where you point it is where all your missiles should go. That's the real point of it.
At least it doesn't make me weep as hard as a LRM Fafnir.

It might be interesting to have a hotkey that toggles direct fire vs ballistic arc so you could choose the shot. It would help avoid team mates (like the early engagement) and give the player certainty over how their missiles behave.
That would be a solution. However I think the issue seems to be just with the missiles not being smart enough (or the terrain not being flagged correctly)
you expect this from a company that failed to give us a override toggle in setting for more than 10 years?
Another really good Battlemaster for the thunderbolts is the 3s. 30% missile cooldown with 2 thunderbolt 20s, great for those who don't want to run an XL engine on an assault.
I shrank my missiles to Thunderbolt 10's and added a Light PPC to strip away ECM. That also allows me to use an XL295. I also added the ASP which gives my tag quite a bit of additional range.

Damn! Thundercocked!! Amazing build. By the way I had my best match ever last night. 1222 dmg 7 touches 5 kills 3 solos 3 KDMs. The Executioner Sovereign 6 Lbx 2s. I love the sandblaster so much!! thanks for showing me that. Does this mean I am a simp for TTB?
Tbolts are crazy bugged right now, in addition to the random flight pattern I've had them randomly fly off of target when within optimal range.
I was looking for a snappy euphemism for this one, but it would be Overcompensating for something..

Is the missile trajectory depended on where they are fired from, like in side-torso vs. arm mounts? Even from the videos alone it's easy to see that the trajectory is widely inconsistent.
Depends on whether you have a direct line of sight to your target or not. Same thing with lrm's and atm's. If you can't see your lock, they'll go on a much higher trajectory
So frustrating playing against Thunderbolts now. theres no counter play once they launch they are already hitting your ct or rear.
@@beletskiypavel9911I get the exact opposite impression when I run thunderbolts. AMS just shuts down a big ol' bubble around it for my missiles completely.

They don't but you need to be able to strip away ECM before you can lock on. PPC's can do much the same thing.
Like the other reply, they don't. You still get the anti ecm benefit, whether that makes it still necessary can be up to debate. Personally I don't load tags onto my thunderbolt platforms, opting for an extra laser instead. Tag you need line of sight anyway, and I've found the thunderbolts are pretty good firing without lock when in line of sight. I've even observed the thunderbolts hitting their target as long as it is within the crosshairs, regardless on if the lock is finished.
