    I find the age of the tv helps, if its a new super thin one they have very small boards, but the fatter 10 yr old tvs seems to have bigger heavier boards

    Great little experiment buddy. I thought the middle size would have the most. The newer the tv the less there is. Crazy how little was in the 70-inch

      I know the 21.6 inch nearly had the same as the 70 😁

    Never mind keeping the note book handy. Get it down on a database. Awesome job brother and just because something is big brother find a way eg two cameras at different angles then when you get in front of the shot
    you can transition to the other camera angle. Ball ache yes but worth the effort on a great video like this one.

      I keep a database of all the copper brass , aluminium and so on that I recover lol but not a database of what I get out of each item lol, I’m ordering a GoPro soon so I’ll be able to start doing that record from more angles lol then I will need to start learning the editing videos more lol

      I know I was surprised when I took the back off , I have several other flat screen TVs to scrap I’m intrigued to see what boards are inside those , but don’t think many people will want me to put another tv scrapping video so soon , so they will have to wait for a while lol

      Yes I take the boards out of everything, some of the power boards I strip down for the copper and the aluminium and some precious metal recovery items , there a couple of places in midlands that buy them , I will do a drive down there when I have a van full lol

    You're losing out on valuable parts!
    Flat screen display panel glass contains ITO. That's an alloy of 10% Indium and 90% Tin. Tin is five times more valuable than Copper, and Indium is worth much more.
    If the backlight is LED, the LEDs themselves contains Gold, some Copper and very valuable REEs (Rare Earth Elements).
    If the backlight is LCD, the fluorescent glass tubes contain Mercury and very valuable REEs (Rare Earth Elements).
    The plastic shell/casing is usually ABS plastic, sometimes PC plastic. Both types are easy to sell to plastic recyclers.
    At least you got some nice Printed Circuit Boards; perfekt for hydrometallurgical recovery of 100% of the values. This procedure will increase your income considerably compared to just selling the boards to a refiner, who then makes the real money.
    You're right, size doesn't matter. Small quality flat screen TVs have better internal parts (for scrapping) than large cheap Chinese ones.

    All that extra money people pay for a 70 inch tv and you paying all that extra money for plastic lol I know the screen is bigger but still there’s less in it then the smaller one 😳

    • @rixismetals
      @rixismetals  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I know what you mean , the boards are a lot better in the 47 inch and that one would have been a cheaper tv most likely, just shows that paying more doesn’t mean your getting more for your money lol
