@Aidan Smith for some reason in DBS, different timelines are treated like separate multiverses. They called Zeno from the future to erase Zamasu, not the present time Zeno. That's why they're 2 of them. Whis also had to travel to other timelines to warn the Supreme Kai about Zamasu rising up. Beerus even said he's not allowed to deal with time travel. Long-story short; 17's wish woulldn't bring back the future timeline, because the future timeline is a separate, alternate set of the 6 universes we see.

Gohan lost his father, Piccollo and everyone else and had to train by himself while always on the run, Gohan was the one who lost everything. If only Goku would have survived.
And now in Super Dragon Ball Heroes there is a new universe where everyone except Gohan dies. Even Trunks and Bulma.... So much pain for Gohan in this terrible timeline...

Trunks came from the future (where everyone's dead) he altered the timeline allowing goku vegeta etc to survive thus allowing them to beat cell/androids but the DEFAULT fate of the z fighters is to be killed by the androids. Trunks caused a break in the timeline creating an alternate reality but the true story of dbz is everyone dying
