Thinking about rigging one of these hoists up to my deck as a dumbwaiter maybe some kind of basket at the end of the hook Be good for grocery day

Hey Jeff, no problem 😃 I'm glad you got some value out of it😊
Thank you for wishing me luck! I need it for the skittish deer around here😁

Reason for the long cable stuff me trucks have a lift on it also you have it set on lthe lowest setting

That makes sense! They're accommodating for bigger trucks and yes, I did have it on the lowest setting too.
Thanks for taking a look, Charles😁

Need a close up so it’s visible at what you are doing. We are frustrated with the directions and your video was no help

I'm sorry that my video did not help!
Which part in particular do you need the help with? Is it the threading of the cable in the winch itself or something else?
I can then try to get some better shots for you.

How is it holding up after 1 year now ?

Unfortunately, I didn't catch anything last year🙁 The black-tailed deer can be be tough to find on Vancouver Island, but I'm out there again this season trying and hoping to put this hoist to good use!
The hoist was in the back of my Jeep for 3 months last year all during deer hunting season and I was out each weekend. It got bounced around on some rough roads and I'm not sure there is even a scratch in the paint.
I have no worries that this is going to do the job! If I'm unsuccessful again this year (which I really hope I'm not) then I'll put it to the test lifting waterlogged logs, boulders , or something heavy like that and I'll video it.

@@agesadventures good luck to you , I'm thinking about getting it for white tail deer I'm Michigan USA but the way you wabble yours side to side made me not like it I'm afraid it might not hold to 250-300lbs

@@littlebitofeverything652 I'm going to have to test again, but it may be that I didn't use a hitch pin and instead used a pin from the box. I think the pins from the box are thinner and meant for the hoist itself and you should use a hitch pin.
It's made of steel, I think it'll handle the weight you're talking about no problem.
I think there is another video out there if this with an animal on it (I can't remember if it is a deer or pig) that you could look and see.
The wobble was from the hitch itself so I think the proper pin would make it more solid.
Good luck to you this year with your hunting 😁
