You should never use 40vol on relaxed hair or any hair. Its only for making specific formula strengths... It burns the melanin out of your hair "quicker" should have use 30 or lower

I don’t think it was the bleach. I used 40 volume developer, it tends to lift faster then 20 or 30 volume developer.
