- I make it a point, for better or worse, that in the month of December I will watch no news on television or listen to it on the radio. I give myself the gift of letting the world spin without me for the holidays. Hence I missed the news that the 3rd most influential man in my life (after my father and Charles Schultz), Lee Mendelson passed away on Christmas Day. I wept when I heard the news.
Having him cast me as Snoopy for the musical special, as well as the musical series and talking doll, was THE highlight of my solo career. How wonderful, how fitting, that a man who brought to the screen such joy for so many children for decades with "A Charlie Brown Christmas" and so much more. Like hand picking Vince Guaraldi who’s music has been the musical score of my growing up years as well as adulthood - should leave us on Christmas Day.
My heart goes out to his family. And as this song “Just One Person” says, thank you Lee, for believing in me. And please give “Sparky“ a big hug for me.

Who knew Snoopy had a great singing voice?
Cam Clarke, if you’re reading this, I think you did a great voice for Snoopy for this special. Even though the children don’t get to hear what Snoopy is saying (or thinking, in this case), all of us do.

My grandma loves snoopy alot, almost all her christmas presents this year were snoopy related
It wasn't until after I saw this for the first time that I discovered that this was Jim Henson's favorite song. That makes me like it even more.
This song was also a favorite of Jim Henson; it was used as the closing song for two commemorative events following his passing: a public memorial ceremony, as well as the televised celebration of his life.

That's a heart-tugging story, and a truly beautiful song. I had no idea he passed either, but what he left behind will continue to live on.
I remember thirty years ago hearing this song when CBS did "Snoopy the Musical," and it touches the heart strings now as it did then. We need this more now in these times, Cam.
This is a very powerful and heartwarming piano ballad that is easily the best song in the whole musical, and makes a grand finale!
I really just want to say thank you and the whole cast who helped make the Metal Gear series, because of you guys, i beat my depression and started the believe in my own way of life with my loved ones and I will always be happy because you and the whole cast of metal gear, happy new year's

I bought this years ago, just because you voiced Snoopy. This song is so absolutely beautiful, even though it's simplistic. Just having it playing as I type this makes me emotional.

I caught this on cable when I was a wee lad in the 90s, and this song stuck with me for years, even as I largely forgot about the rest of the special. It's such a sweet, pure, innocent song. You knocked it out of the park!

This is a wonderful tribute, remembering someone who makes you feel special, and it makes that person very special themself. Always fun to have Snoopy as a staple of the Christmas season and any time/holiday of the year. Happy New Years Cam.
Cam, you are like my canon voice for Snoopy! Whenever I see the comics of him "talking" no matter what it is, (even in the newer stuff where he doesn't talk at all,) all I can hear is your voice in my head coming out of him, and honestly I think they should bring you back to voice him again! :)
It’s sad that Lee died but he died on my birthday and I didn’t not know that Charles Shultz died on Christmas. Lee was a great person to do the Peanuts specials.
