But I tell you, it is the easiest and cheapest, albeit not the fastest, way to get to your destination around Cebu. The coding system of PUJ routes in Cebu is in alphanumeric form which tells you the exact origin and route of the jeep. For example, a 04C and 04D which are routes originating in Lahug district with final destination in Carbon Market. Plastered on the sides of the vehicle are the major streets and landmarks where the PUJ passes. The number prefix tells the exact origin (in this case, Camp Lapu-Lapu and Salinas Drive), both in Lahug but from different areas of Lahug. The letter suffix tells you the route that the PUJ is taking. In our example, both routes take completely different routes but go to a common destination, Carbon Market. But with the advent of Google map, it is now easy for tourists to take the PUJ around Cebu. Just locate your destination then find the nearest PUJ stop represented by a blue vehicle icon and click on it. The PUJ routes will appear to the left panel of your screen. So depending on your place of origin, take any of the PUJ route shown. Take note that we are a right-hand traffic nation so you will know which direction your PUJ is heading to.
