Sharp box cutter should do the trick.

just regular sponge then use a cutter and cut in the center of your cube sponge.

seems like extra steps when the seeds will germinate right in the sponge (or peat pods, seed starters, etc). seriously try it

its store bought. but i also tried regular sponge before. it also worked.
