Been a while since we last spoke, but I am using the Coral helmet, the Rathalos chest, the Azure gauntlets, the pink Rathian coil, and the Kulu leggings as my DPS build still. I got super lucky and got all 5 with aggressive dodger fast. At some point, I am replacing my Aggressive Dodger with either partbreaker if they are available from the upcoming special melds in the later July event of level 5 heroics through driftsmeld. One question I wanted to ask, is level 4 critical eye and level 4 weakness exploit better for hammer than level 5 element attack boost? I have had massive success with my big affinity build, but I have often wondered if the elemental damage of hammers in MHN is just as good or better than the main games and if I should go through the trouble of melding the elemental boosts for my affinity build or if I should just continue with Heroics and affinity.
@greenbubba97 elemental attack is very good in this game since it just flat out adds the element to your overall attack. 5 elemental attack would be equal to 4 wex + 4 crit eye. Even though you are comparing 5 skill levels to 8 here. You can check this yourself on mhn.quest on the compare tab. A very helpful wesbite. You want to be running 4 levels of elemental attack from two pieces of equipment at the very least. But try to go for 5. So yeah, it is worth it to try to meld the last level. Your other pieces of equipment should be for wex or crit eye.
Although it would take a while, I am wondering if I should try for elemental damage level 5 through driftsmeld slots. I feel outside of aggressive dodger and heroics (unless partbreak comes with the limited stones) that my current equipment mixed with level 5 elemental attack for each element would be a lot less painful than having to try to get WEX and Crit Eye on all of the elemental damage pieces, especially since I have already invested so much into my current build that I feel like I cannot back down now. I tried to kill a 10* Mizutsune with my current build and got pretty far, but Heroics might be one of the only things that allows me to kill monsters like that. For me, it just feels like it is the grind required to invest in other pieces Vs the grind to get perks on my currently pretty strong pieces. I wish I could have the best of both worlds, but it will cost me either way. I figured my affinity build would cover the downside of negative affinity weapons while at the same time having very high neutral DPS, but I might need to start investing in those elemental armor pieces. I wish lock on was just base kit in the game so we weren’t stonewalled into using those armor pieces. It would open up so many opportunities.
@greenbubba97 I would just try to meld elemental attack onto a piece with two elemental attack already on it. Melding elemental attack 5 different times for each element would take like a year lol. I wouldn't worry too much about getting the absolute best possible set. Leave that to the whales. The meta will constantly be changing anyway. Like how we now have bubbly damage which when your weapon is at 10.5 now outperforms the current elemental attack 5 meta sets. But requires three Mizutsune pieces and a bunch of melds. Meh.
@@Bagu2Thanks for the insight. Did you see the critical boost and dragon attack driftstones that are coming with Azure Rathalos and Black Diablos? I do wonder what the driftgems have that the driftstones don’t as they separated driftstones and driftgems in the announcements notes. I was praying partbreaker would be one of the perks we could get, but hopefully that will happen in an event coming soon.
That was awesome. The perfect dodge when it was lighting up was clutch. So glad you got the last hit off, almost came up one hit short!
@lhuce7586 thanks!
Yeah I was trying so hard to bring my special back online but missed my side swipe lol. So coulda been faster but hey
congratulations. looking forward to your fight against pink rathian.
nice video as always! also can I ask for a hammer build for a beginner hammer user?

@@Bagu2Crazy thing is, my friend just showed me that site a couple days ago. I wonder what the limited stones will bring to the game.
