I’m from Haiti. I grew up there and came to this country for a better life. We don’t eat cats and dogs. When we come to this country we work hard and try to attend school for a better life. I’m the first one in my family to graduate with a master and my husband is the first one in his family to become a physician . We grew up in Haiti and find it disrespectful to say things like that. I wish He would educate himself before speaking.
I am not Haitian but I lived in a carribean community which included Haitian families. I know that when I went to public school, there were few Haitian children, but when I transferred to private Christian school, 90% were Haitian. All that to say, I learned a lot about Haitian culture, and I know that they work hard and education is very important. While the rest of us worry about material fades, the Hatian family are putting their children in private Christian schools to get better education and also to enhance the learning of Christ. So for someone running for president of the Untied States to spread these, not stereotypes, but lies are disheartening. It's like we are going backward. B people as a whole need to stick together.
I totally understand bringing your own pillows and linen and cleaning when you arrive at the hotel but not sleeping with your husband, not judging you but i totally don't get it. Is the hotel room your phobia or is the phobia your husband.

Tan I certainly don’t mean any harm or disrespect. I think a good therapist would be in order. You can’t breathe in a hotel room but can in any other space. I do clean areas in the hotel it’s not breathing the air that’s a little bit of a problem and not sleeping with your husband. I hope you can get the help you apparently need. Much love!
I haven't watched in a minute, but Tan looks like she can't wait for Eric to shut up. Eric seems like his ideology is happy wife happy life for a woman that seems disgusted with him and only married him because the man she really wanted didn't want her when they were in college. Tan knew that Eric would give her a good life (she was smart for that) but now that their son is grown Eric's presence annoys her. I feel sorry for Eric because no matter what he does to appease this woman she will constantly complain. This is why I warn my son of women like this am using this video as a teachable lesson.

Seeing your room setup I realized I have a slight problem. I have hotel shoes and will place towels on the bathroom floor. My feet and socks don’t touch the floor, but I don’t have to use my own sheets and towels. I have heard other people say they use their own sheets and towels in hotel rooms so you are not alone. His comments were very insulting.

Right! lol!! Now I JUST said that I have a hotel phobia---- the DIDDY of it all!!! Go somewhere and sit down🤷🏾♀️
It's not that he can't be in the room when I shower per say--- we had just finished walking around/working out and were pretty sweaty. We as a family when home, NEVER come from working out and sit around on the furniture, beds, etc in workout clothes- we head straight for the shower. Well, with only one bathroom- we decided that on this particular trip, he or I would continue to walk around the resort or workout a little longer until the other one finished in the shower. That's it that's all... hope this clears it up.

I know exactly how you feel and this is why I don’t like to travel! I bring my own linen, towels and all and soon as I get home I throw everything in the washer and wash it in very hot water! God bless you ❤️💕😘

Why not get help to find out the underlying issues. I say this because I didn't hear anything about counseling. Perhaps I missed it though. I couldn't imagine just staying in this haadspace and the person that I live with having to find so much patience while the fear just continues. Why not focus on all your phobias for the next year and keep us updated on your progress and counseling because germs are still there? You two are such a cute couple.
I’ve been waiting on a new vlog from my fabulous friend! Praying for your phobia, I know we make light but people don’t know the strength to just attempt to enjoy life sometimes through the fear! Allow yourself some grace 🙏🏾

I enjoy staying at hotels
If you stand on how you feel, WHY do you care who hears your conversation? That is part of the problem too, we are afraid to say what we really feel and make a point out in the open. If 'THEY can speak what they call their truths, why can't you w/o running away from THEM to speak yours? It's time to stand up and be heard. Stand firm people.
LOVE just like us- those around us, were on vacation. People leave home to escape and I respect that. I would not appreciate someone sitting near me talking loudly about politics so, I try to "be" what I expect from others. The fact that my husband and I are speaking on a public platform, about relevant issues is an example of just that. Being loud, rude and disruptive isn't always the move, my friend 🥰
So speak ‘quietly’ ( if possible), or it should have waited until you got home to have the discussion

Yeah I don't get in hotel beds without being fully clothed and yeah hotels have to be new for me to feel more comfortable and a hot tub/jacuzzi in a hotel is absolutly disgusting. I could go on and on..lol

Hi Tan & Eric, sounds like OCD on the high end of the scale however I believe we all have some level of this disorder.. thank you for being transparent, I to have certain triggers with anxiety especially when it comes to flying 😅what if the hotel was brand new and you were the first guest, would you feel more comfortable? What the heck I was told even some symptoms is caused by menopause lol😂let’s just keep each lifted up in prayer 🙏🏽 especially in these times we living in👍🏾💕✌🏾
I also have hotel phobia Tan! I think mine is a bit moderate or minimal, but there none the less. We just got back from our honeymoon in Italy, and I did my best to come prepared! It was a plus that the flooring was not carpet - saved me alot of mental stress, haha.

I've been to that resort a few times, beautiful, relaxing. I have enjoyed it every time.
I have a SERIOUS phobia of the dentist. I tried to make a dental appointment last month. I started CRYING on the phone with the receptionist. My last dental appointment was last year. I kept having to go to the bathroom. I went to potty four times during the hour I was in the dentist’s office. The day of my follow-up appointment, I woke up in TEARS. I called a friend and had him call to cancel my appointment. I’m going to find a therapist to help me work this. I need all four wisdom teeth removed. When the pain hits, I take Tylenol for a few days.
Yep, I can understand completely. The phobias are a real thing and of course no one wants to live like this but 🤷🏾♀️ I pray you are able to conquer the fear, one day at a time my friend 💞

Oh gosh I totally understand your fear of the dentist as I share the same feeling to an extent. When you get your wisdom teeth removed they will put you asleep so you will only feel the pain hrs after the procedure. If it’s a fear of the pain often associated with the dentist that You may need to find a dentist that specializes in pain management. I used to have to be put asleep for any & all procedures. I was lucky enough to have found a great dental hygienist whom I’ve built a rapport & a friendly relationship with so I now trust her enough not to freak out when getting my teeth cleaned. Please look into dental offices that offer laughing gas which will take the edge off so you’ll be more relaxed & anesthesia when dealing with more complicated procedures. Good luck to you moving forward because dealing with dental pain is no joke!

I’m the same way I’m insane when it comes to germs in hotels I bring my own pillows towels and sheets I buy piles of flip flops for the summer using them for the shower and walking i around the room, it’s crazy that most ppl don’t think about what goes on in the room 😂 but of course it has to do with anxiety. Hi When I go to hotel I order disposable sheets. Just lay them on top. Use them on the couches as well.
God bless you Tan. Sharing your difficulties really can help someone else with similar struggles. I personally deal with some phobias and allergies as well. Anywhere I stay other than my own home is thoroughly cleaned by me down to getting a vacuum cleaner, black light wand, air purifier, disposable sheets, towels ,and an array of cleaning products including bed bug spray pillows & pillow cases, added security lock guards for the door, and the peep hole will be covered. Oddly enough, I always try to stay in hotels with onsite laundry amenities and wash the bed covers. All articles of clothing, sneakers, shoes and bottoms must be cleaned before being packed in my luggage. Girl, I could go on and on. We do what works for us. Eric and Chase love and that's ALL that matters!

I love me a great theme park! Currently a UOAP pass holder but Disney has been priced extremely high and the guest experience has declined. All I can say is let’s see what they do once Epic Universe opens.
It’s good to know that I’m not alone with how I operate with hotels. I’m not as extreme as you Tan, lol, however I too NEVER walk on the bare floors including the shower. Shower shoes are a MUST for my husband and our daughter as well. I don’t lay anything down on counters without a covering. We don’t even unpack. I’m not placing my clothes in those drawers, lol! Hey Tan and Erik, heyyyy! I hope you both enjoyed yourselves during your impromptu vaca! I believe that storms are on the way, so safe travels. I enjoyed how light this video was today. To your point, on if anyone was unsure, I was a 'D' for 12 years and after a lot of research and reviewing how my morals and life experiences didn't align with 'D's any longer, I slowly transitioned as a conservative. Some people may still be uncertain but at the end of the day, we have the power to write our own story and can overcome anything! Tan don't raise your blood pressure over this girl! I'm not losing friends or family members over their personal choice of who they vote for. All in all, we should continue to love our brothers and sisters through Christ and through our differences. Hey, Tan & Erik👋🏾 Glad you enjoyed your trip. Tan, I commend you for sharing this. I'm def a hotel snob as well. Im OC about touching anything in the space before its cleaned. I bring products, gloves, masks. I refuse to let me feet touch the floor even after I've mopped. Old Navy flip, flops saves my life. Toss in trash upon checkout. My mother used to bring a plastic mattress cover and all the bedding including pillows and I've inherited this trait😔 I even have disposable sheets and towels. My hubby and I have seperate bathrooms and closets at home. Ppl really don't understand how serious this is for others. Thank God our hubbies are truly understanding. I've been married 23yrs. It is what it is. Love you guys❤
When you think of vacation or just any travel your thinking comfort, relaxation and even a nice reset so you can go back into normal hustle and bustle. Whatever you have to do to feel comfortable do it!! I have a family of 6 and normally we love a airbnb because I love having the space and my husband enjoys having our own pool at our own leisure. My husband also snores at night like a bear so being able to sleep without that interruption doesn’t sound that bad. Right now I play beat him to sleep 😂🤣. All that to say if your happy than hey I’m happy your relaxing and enjoying this beautiful resort.

This was some sharing and tbh your phobia has given me pause when I travel so thank you Tan. My 2 cents would be that you and Eric consider buying a property in Orlando/elsewhere in Florida that is your own spot that way you enjoy every moment on your stays.
Your family is so blessed to be able to up and go and have a property to stay at. Hopefully you can do a vlog on how to get a vacation property like you guys. Just to help those of us who might not know how to start.
I bring my own sheets and put their pillows on the chair or table. I bring my own towel and request no room service. Once i clean the room, i don't want no cleaners to enter. I wear slippers in the shower. I'm Jamaican and i prefer to always go to Jamaica and stay with family than visiting another country.

Hi Tan and Erik, the only phobia I have with hotels is I refuse to walk barefoot. When you mentioned the pillows and towels that you throw away have you considered leaving them in the room. The pillows might be able to be reused and towels can be donated to animal shelters. My son & I traveled with a large group of Martial Artists and stayed at Coronado Springs in the Casitas. My experience started off on a bad note. However, after not behaving like the "angry"🎉 black woman but an intelligent black woman, the issue was addressed quite thoroughly and resolved. Unfortunately, it was off-putting because the disrespect came from another black woman who was a front desk employee at the check in desk. Let's say I was the happy Pearson I could have been in the happiest place on the planet and it was my first experience at Disney. It left a bad taste in my mouth. I soldiered on for the sake of my son who was competing in the International Martial Arts Tournament and he won which really made my day.

OMG! I feel you! I don’t have a hotel phobia, but I HATE hotels!!! I hate the thought of sleeping, sitting, toileting where strangers have been. But I think renting a house would be MUCH worse because at least I know a hotel has certain cleanliness standards.

I truly understand some people have phobias. I just don’t understand why you can’t sleep in the same bed with your husband and when you’re taking a shower, he can’t stay in the room. I’m not being mean or anything, I truly don’t get that part. Can you explain that part of it? If you’re done talking about it, that’s ok. Love you guys!😊
Sure no problem-- when we return from walking/working out in the mornings, especially in FL we are hot and sweaty, especially Erik. We prefer not to come back to the room and sit on the furniture, beds, etc hot, sticky and smelly. We completely understand that this isn't a problem for some but for us-- nah. When we have our own bathrooms on vacation, everyone immediately heads to "their" bathroom and showers up. When we travel as we did on this trip-- someone would have to sit in the room sweaty and smelly on the furniture. It's a hygiene thing for us. Hope this helps :)
